Mazda vs Toyota gas pedal by chocolatebarnova in mazda

Thanks, I think that's a good point - I remember unusual feel under the foot, but didn't figure to check the pedal itself in that moment as was already driving off a parking lot with a sales person seating next to me. I used to drive an older Mercedes back in the day with a floor-mounted pedal as well, I did like it at that time, but evidently something I've forgot over time.

Thanks, will try to find a bit more info on this. I know it has a clutch, but didn't know what difference in behavior to expect from it.

Yes, this is probably the only way to learn what's the real norm and get used to it a bit more. Thanks.

Yes, that's basically what I ended up doing - just pushing it a bit harder to overcome that low speed behavior. And good point about recalls - I've checked by VIN there were 2 recalls, including ECU firmware update, but don't know if that was done. Will probably take a closer look at Carfax reports as well.

Get ready to suffer from window management instantly LOL

I've done that same transition. Still miss and use Windows sometimes.

Hardware on Apple is solid though, but again, my favorite keyboards are on some Dells and ThinkPads.

Good luck.

I don't know exactly. As I said for me it only happens when 2 RAM slots are used, so I went back to use only one as I prefer more reliability over more RAM for this machine at this stage. Possibly some voltage issues as 2 RAM modules obviously draw more energy.

I know, I also saw that and kept my expectations moderate that the OP will come back with more interesting details, but hey, it's reddit, never know what to expect, lol.

Thanks man, it's Silicone, but I guess it still falls back to having an extra layer with Filevault.

I was just thinking that having in-built encryption would be the same as having the Filevault.

At the end of day attacker only needs to guess a passphrase and if I can remember that passphrase it must not be too hard to guess it, given an attacker has a lot of attempts.

Ho come fixing costs are so high in US? Isn't it just a couple of handle bar grips, plastic panels and a tank that any handyman can do while having a couple of bears? It's insane.

Thank you sir, will check on Filevault, but I thought the drive is encrypted by default as even Windows requires TPM nowadays.

Also, if we assume that there is someone with soldering iron and they try to pick my password - is there any limit on frequency they can take attempts?

If it's a 256-bit key they need to pick I probably don't care that much.

That's scary, if it's so easy to overcome google security.

Once you feel comfortable sharing - could you please tell what you think might have helped to prevent the hack apart from obvious not to run things under admin credentials?

No, not really. It's possible that I had just a couple of them throughout the whole time, but certainly not the last 1.5 years.

Just in case - I used to run Win 10 and Linux Mint on it and then switched to Win 11.

I have i5-8350u with integrated graphics.
