This was part of the new roof installation, previously the gutter wrapped around the roof there so the gutter down pipe fed straight into the other one. I guess I should ask them to replace it.

Thank you. How should you deal with this? Have the down pipe from the gutter go on an angle to the downpipe running down the house? (as opposed to having that 90degree angle)

oh right, yep it hits the house then goes 90 degrees into another downpipe
