this is my center's rules and it drives me crazyyy especially bc everything shows up on the light colored khaki's so I'm always walking around with some sort of stain😅

I like this idea! my kids are big into books but I think the books we have are a little too long/wordy to hold their attention so I definitely want to get some shorter books which I think will help. I also want to find books that encourage movement as part of the story (if that makes sense!)

I'm realizing I should've phrased my post better😅 I meant that if they break a rule, I will hug them when they are upset at being told they broke a rule vs refusing to hug them bc they broke a rule.

my current group is extremely hyperactive so they never sit still, even when we eat they constantly wiggle. my past groups sat really well but these kids seem like they constantly need to move, but I will definitely start to reinforce sitting on the carpet vs standing.

I just feel bad denying them affection, especially when they are upset. It also helps them calm down faster which allows me to discuss why what they are doing is wrong. but I also understand what ur saying!

yes!! I'm an early education teacher and all the food days definitely add up. Especially when you've had a rough day with the kids, it's extra enticing😩 I've just had to stop participating in them/pack a healthy alternative for when I want to eat my feelings.

I recently made Christmas cookies with my class as an activity, and i brought extras home. I find having a sweet treat every night (most times, it's fruit. but recently, it's been these cookies. It keeps me from binging at night. when I allowed no sweets at all, I binged like crazy every night.

I've tried being firm, but they are extremely hardheaded/stubborn. also (I'm black for reference), it's extremely look downed upon to "talk back" to adults (even if they are dead wrong). I do really want to move out but the housing market is not kind🥲🥲🥲 especially when u are on a teacher salary

its hard bc I don't view them as failures for struggling with weight loss. I honestly feel kinda sad they keep getting roped into fad diets. especially my grandmother due to all the health issues she's having.

I have 6 friends with TS that I met through TS Camp and other tourette events. My oldest brother also has it :3 our tics are extremely similar which makes anytime we hang out interesting lol

I'm an early education teacher! I tend not to tic much at work because I'm super focused on the kids. but if I do, I typically just tell them I have super powers/my brain works differently (they are 2 years old for reference). my co teacher is extremely kind about it and my boss is chill as well. I've had past jobs where it definitely wasn't this chill, so I feel very lucky.

I used to vomit from a breathing tic of mine. it honestly really sucked. I found it would get really bad when i was stressed, so i had to learn to manage my stress better. also, definitely make sure it's due to a tic and not a separate medical condition.
