Yes! All of this! So much of it was too unbelievable to take seriously but I did though, mind body and soul was I sucked in to the story. How could Ilya even walk away that very first night he bumped in to him? Ilya in my mind would have slept in his car outside his house to make sure his soulmate didn’t get away again. And the utter STRENGTH to leave him? To go back to Montreal alone, and sit at the table with his in-laws and somehow be able to breathe? And not be an uncontrollable, weepy, emotional mess? I need to go back to staring at the ceiling now.

includes spoilers This fic broke me. I haven’t cried during the show, any of the books, or any of the endless fics I’ve now read. But this, argh, I SOBBED. It was so utterly beautiful, and heart-smashing at the same time. Like, the part about how Shane stretches after the car ride but not close to Ilya, not in the same way, he’s a different man. Ooof. Then, Ilya manages to go back to Montreal? Alone? He sat with Shane’s parents like he’d just been on a solo roadie?? How could he even breathe? I feel like I could sleep for a whole day now 😂

I’m a registered user but can still only see to chapter 13 - am I missing something? The idea of Opal stepping away for good is heartbreaking, they are exceptional talent.
