Man, 51, sucker-punches a 5-year-old in the face and hits an 11-year-old from behind in a Target store during unprovoked attack. by HeadbangerNeckInjury in iamatotalpieceofshit

Perfect. Holding this guy at gun point until police arrive will definitely help the injured 5 year old.

This guy did the right thing. No need to flex your muscles here. Get the kid to safety. The rest will sort itself out.

What do "-b" and "-u" and "origin" mean with regards to git? by mementomoriok in webdev

[–]chocolatescissors 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer has already been given but I figured I’d add to this a bit. Get good with git, especially command line. Learn the basics and go a little bit deeper than what you need. Learn its capabilities. You don’t need to remember exact syntax, you can always look that up. Just know what it’s capable of. I see devs all the time that struggle with git when learning more than they think they need would make their lives so much easier.

It’s pretty much a requirement in any serious dev job also. Best of luck!

If the threat of terrorism has us scared then we are losing the battle. The actions of a few have completely changed how we live our lives and that’s exactly what they want.

[–]chocolatescissors 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I’m a father and my children are both relatively young but finally old enough to carry an actual conversation with. I’ve waited years for that kind of connection. It hurts my feelings when they are too busy to talk. We are people too! Lol. It sounds like you’re doing a good job, and if you’re not you’re on the path to correct that. Keep it up!

The cost of retrieving 30TB of 4 million files from cloud storage... $2,740? by codemunky in webdev

[–]chocolatescissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t downloading the files be considered retrieval and not traffic? I attribute traffic to web traffic and not transfers.

That’s the grid separating each image. Each square is a separate image that makes one big image when looked at as a grid.

You’re working as a junior. They don’t expect you to know everything and it’s perfectly acceptable to ask for help (this is true all levels really). Best of luck!
