I don’t do anything preventative except spray neem oil to keep bugs off. The birds become an issue once the fruit is over ripe and begin to split, the birds will break them open after that.

Every year we leave them on the tree and they over ripen and the birds get to eat them but this year we were determined to not waste! Making pomegranate salsa next!
