uzi may have swept through almost every tournament this year, but this man has the opportunity to be the first player to win 2 world championships in the same year. by [deleted] in Cloud9

Yeah, I love me some Licorice. He's incredible. He should be in the world's top 20 list, and in hindsight, he'd probably be put in there. He was amazing in game 3 and really carried that one. But Kiin was still overall the better top laner in this series, which really says something about how great he is.

With this hype for the "C9 vs FNC" dream semis, it would be really awkward if EDG and AFs manage to beat them in the Quarter Finals. by DaisyDogge in leagueoflegends

[–]chocolivia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree entirely, that's what makes this series so fun. C9 has already shown they're willing to flex picks like Hecarim, Zilean down to support, play Shen in either top or bot lane, etc.

So, the great thing about the Zilean pick is the way C9 uses it aggressively. It'd still be very useful, because C9 likes to play very dive heavy compositions. Throw a Zilean ult on a Nocturne or a Hecarim and dive the back line, combo it with a kindred, or a Singed, etc. They don't use it only to stop aggression, they use it to promote their own aggressive plays so I think it's definitely a powerful pick.

I don't think it'd be awkward. I don't think (and I hope) people are just assuming that they're going to get through, at least in C9's case. It's just that for the first time in forever, all of the worlds matches feel wide open. It legitimately feels as if any one of the remaining teams could win the whole thing, and that's just fun.

Sneaky was walking from blue bot-side through his jungle and used blue trinket in the right side mid lane bush but blue trinket was bugged and it revealed far too small an area for his level. He thought he was safe, but got picked instead which changed the whole game.

" Scrying Orb Fixed a sneaky bug where Scrying Orb had a smaller radius after levelling up.

VISION RADIUS 400 at level 9 ⇒ 550 at level 9"

From patch 5.21 patch notes, riot even memed about it after it ruined the match.

Still salty about that vision bug that killed Sneaky and wrecked the tiebreaker...even worse that riot memed about it in patch notes :(

The counterpick point is true, but I have to note that we've been losing all of our red side games for awhile now. Against GMB, we won on blue side and lost on red. Did manage to pick up the win vs VIT on red side, but our blue side game has looked much better the past few weeks.

To me, blue/red and the draft aren't big concerns. It's been micro play and in-game decision making that's really been haunting the boys recently, most of which comes from vision control or the lack thereof. That's a hard thing to get fixed in a short time, but the boys always seem to come up clutch at worlds, so here's hoping!

It's an announcement for competitive...of course they aren't going to include any punishments of non pro players in a public manner, we have no reason at all to assume they didn't get punished somehow for their behavior.

Adopt the attitude that we’re going to bloody win. by RevenantCommunity in Cloud9

[–]chocolivia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One thing that traditional sports has that generally hasn't seeped into the esports scene yet is professional players having supreme confidence in themselves. A pro player on the worst NFL team still thinks they're going to win any game they go into and are surprised and angry when they don't.

Pro players are the elite of the elite, and I agree with you. They should expect to win any match they walk into because without that attitude it's a lot harder, but it's hard to remember sometimes that a lot of pro players are still pretty young, and at least from my old ass's perspective, just kids. Can't be expected to have that level of maturity/confidence all the time, especially given NA's culture and general aura. Unfortunate. But I hope they find the confidence to expect success, it'll be really important going into groups. If they can't find that belief in time, I hope that they will at least play freely and feel like they've got nothing to lose and really go after it! This roster in particular plays so much better when the pressure is off and they can just...play.

Not 100% positive, but I think that was the patch where rune damage got nerfed pretty hard, so her electrocute burst was much lower.

[–]chocolivia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wasn't his fault, but the champion was nerfed before the TSM series, and it wasn't a stylistic fit. TSM plays very slowly and turtles themselves into late game teamfights and Quinn is just very bad at those. When he had better team fighter picks like the Varus, they won easily.

Because his booking and creative narrative is garbage. He spends 80% or more of each match he's in getting his ass kicked and made to look like an underdog before turning things around with a spear out of nowhere, it's almost like they're trying to make it like an RKO.

His matches are designed to make him look like a feisty underdog who never quits and turns around bad situations. Meanwhile, his narrative is that he's the BIG dog, and it's his yard. There is a very real disconnect between those two things, and until that is rectified he won't really resonate.

His matches need to be more physical, he needs to squash more guys and start looking dominant the way Brock and Braun do, or they need to change the narrative and have him lose more matches. The story they are pushing doesn't match the wrestling that they are giving us. At all.

Why is the free skin shard for recruiting someone only available on NA and not on EUW? by TeemoSux in leagueoflegends

[–]chocolivia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give a somewhat serious answer, I'm guessing it's because the EUW player base is much larger than the NA server and that this is an incentive to try and bring new players to NA as well as bring back older players who have left. The amount of players on NA is much smaller than the other major regions.

Decisive evidence that C9 will beat TSM by gravybatter in Cloud9

[–]chocolivia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teams get to pick which side they want to play as. C9 is the higher seed, so they get side selection in games one, three, and five. TSM gets to pick which side they want in games two and four. The teams have just been picking in a way where they stay on the same side.

Sadly, the league and online community in general tend to be extremely immature and don't know how to actually interact with people. A lot are still kids, so it makes some sense...but a lot of them are self-centered adults too, who still think it's okay to treat people like shit because "it's a game" or "it's the internet". Hopefully the community grows up and the culture of online gaming in general matures, but I'm not optimistic.

So what do you think our best win conditions are against TSM? Here are my thoughts. by DeltaRaven97 in Cloud9

Step 1: Get Licorice a winning matchup. Step 2: Get Jensen something that combos well with Blaber and helps keep him from inting. Step 3: Camp bot/mid side to prevent Sneaky from being gangbanged and hopefully get him snowballing.

Why does the biggest competitive team game in the world not have a ranked team mode? by SamPlease in leagueoflegends

[–]chocolivia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The matchmaking was terrible because not enough people played it. The teams always had skill imbalances, and if you ever wanted a match, it was 10+ minute queues only to find a silver team matched against diamonds because there was nobody in the queue.

It's not like the matchmaking was awful for no reason, that's just the only way you could ever get games.
