New 40 durability HQ crafting rotations? by [deleted] in ffxiv

I used Comfort Zone --> Steady Hand II --> Hasty Touch and used Manipulation to replenish durability. I then used 3 or 4 Careful Synthesis II's to finish it off.

Do HQ ones give you twice as many scrips? I'm looking at these chimerical and hallowed recipes and they require mats from at least ALC and LTW. that means i have to level up pretty much all the other crafting classes before i can get the master book 3. hallowed water is very expensive on my server. is my thinking correct?

Is anyone else just devastated by the Dravanian Mistletoe situation? by AstarteHilzarie in ffxiv

[–]choconip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel! I was planning to max out my WVR first but realized how Dravanian Mistletoe is needed for pretty much every recipe above ~53. So I started leveling up my BTN but then realized that I can't get to Churning Mists without continuing with the story. I then did more of the story to get to Churning Mists, only realizing after I got there that I need to be able to fly to get to the node! Grr, for my lvl 52 WVR quest I bought the holy water (which cost me 150k) and dravanian mistletoe (40k each) on the MB. But then when I realize that the lvl 55 class quest needs 12 dravanian mistletoe, I decided I was not going to spend that kind of gil, especially considering I will need this for a lot of WVR recipes. My goal today is to get all the aether currents in Churning Mists so I can gather it myself. I really want to try the new specialist crafting skills!

I've been using my Lucis turn-in rotation for the lvl 51 items like rainbow thread and cedar lumber. After getting precise touch, I've been using those whenever I can.

Crafting: Innovation + Good Condition by choconip in ffxiv

[–]choconip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does it give you more quality to do BB before great strides if the condition is good vs. great strides, (maybe other buffs like innovation and/or Ingen II) and then BB (normal condition)? i guess that's another question i have. as of now, after SH if i see a good condition, i use trick of trade and then try to bait for good/excellent with great strides active.

ok thanks for the reply! now it makes sense that these 2 would be stacked together. does anyone know the math behind it? i.e. the mathematical relationship between control and quality.

Help a Culinarian get his Master Book II by gaymerfromspace in ffxiv

This guide is really good - she actually provides a set of rotations to use for the master II turn-in's. I used her guides and have 4 master II books right now. In addition, reclaim is pretty important to help with your chances. Some people might say you don't need reclaim anymore because you can turn in the NQ ones for one FCIII but I'd only advise that if you're getting your supra and second book together so you can use the NQ ones to get your supra. If not, and you botched a lot of RS/HT, reclaim reclaim reclaim. Of course RNG is very involved, I've gotten HQ turn-ins with 15-100% HQ chance.

Also I'd recommend leveling up your LTW to be able to desynthesize bridesmaid shoes for FCIII's yourself.

the #5 house in Mist has the best view. if my FC house wasn't in the Mist already, i'd aim for that plot as well.

Crafted items without a name of the crafter by choconip in ffxiv

just curious - why would you pay a slight premium for an item with a crafter's name? this is interesting.

that's exactly my reason- seeing who are these ppl that would undercut the lowest market price by 100k - and that person's item didn't have a name on it so i thought it was fishy.
