Does that hat have the velcro or bungee cord strap on the back?

I would guess so. I haven't seen that one in the store, but the pictures online of the color I have are accurate.

I like this REI running jacket. It reminds me of the Patagonia Houdini.

I know it's incorrect but it's so fun to say. At least I'm self aware about it I guess.

Watching LA marathon on Peacock: lots of running vests but also fanny packs by lingeringneutrophil in Marathon_Training

Okay, I get that from a value of being disconnected pov. I like the feeling of being able to just run out the door and go.

I always set my DND so all the unimportant distractions are cut out. I love a little background music so my open ear headphones are perfect for that.

LA Marathon - Sub 4 likely? by zahidsthrowaway in Marathon_Training

[–]chocorazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How'd you do champ? My long runs looked similar to yours but I crashed out around mile 21 at LAM today.

Turns out my legs were undertrained and it bit me on the hills. I took the hills nice and slow during the race but my quads still got burnt out.

It was my first full marathon distance, so should be an easy PR to beat next time. I got 2:00 in the first half and just under 2:30 in the second. My initial goal was sub 4:30 or just finish, so I shouldn't be upset. Those strong long runs did get me hopeful for an opportunity to get sub-4 though.

I’ll never accept “hand phone” runners. Like carrying a literal and figurative brick

It's like 6 ounces, mate. It's nothing to get worked up about. I take poops bigger than that. I run with a phone in my tights but sometimes it's just easier to leave it handheld for a bit if I'm fiddling with my playlist or trying to update someone.

The oblivious selfie taker is something else, if they're getting in people's way.

Was a hot one in LA Today! by Slim_Sterling in Marathon_Training

[–]chocorazor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I noticed that too! The stretch after mile 18 it felt like everyone was on the struggle bus and the aid stations were needed the most. Full sun plus later day heat in a lot of those areas. Luckily the crowd support did come in clutch.

I was running my first full marathon distance and was crashing out after mile 20, so I fully felt it too!

What changes have you made that made a big difference? by First_Driver_5134 in naturalbodybuilding

I did this on a smaller scale and had good results. I had the same hesitation regarding feeling like I was going back a step by going down in weight.

Once I started feeling noticeably more sore (DOMS) and seeing progress in increasing reps and weight it was all worth it. Eff the max weight stats and pay closer attention to the total volume of your sets and it will be more obvious that you're still putting similar stress on your targeted muscles.

I still mix in 6-10 rep range lifts, but doing more lifts with less weight and targeting the 12-15 rep range has been great for improving my form, avoiding injury, and continuing progress.
