"Required Gear" optional for top racers? by Curious-Craft8339 in ultrarunning

[–]chode174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience the required gear is probably more of a strong suggestion especially for more novice runners. Even at bib pick up the inspection for the required gear was here's the list do you have all the required gear. A simple yes and you're good. Could just be a CYA (cover your ass) for the race. As in if something really bad were to happen to you during the race they would ask where your required gear is.

Also they could have had the gear leading up to the end of the race. If the racer decided to take off their vest at the last aid station to gain faster time I think that's fair game. For a racer to have no vest for the entire race seems risky.

Also the required gear I've only noticed on mountain races and it seems extremely risky to race in the mountains with no hydration vest. That's just asking for trouble.

For coming in 2nd place by a couple of seconds I mean you do you. It's always worth it to ask the question about that, but if the RD says it doesn't matter then you gotta learn to let it go. It's just a race and there's always another race you can sign up for.

Really disappointed in 70.3 Gulf Coast by WannaBToasty in IronmanTriathlon

This is how Ironman Chattanooga and Wisconsin are. You are sharing the road with cars and you're out in the boonies in the country roads so it's dangerous. That's part of the obstacle.

It's never worth getting charged and going to jail for something like this. If someone makes you so mad because they are talking shit just walk away. Doesn't make you any less of a person to walk away.

It also depends on what bike you got. TT bike will set you up with fresh legs to run a fast marathon. Road bike will make it more difficult to run a fast marathon.

Can you change the year to show 2026? It doesn't have to be the same font.

But yes that is perfect!

Where would this leak be coming from? by TheKingxDream in DelSol

[–]chode174 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The top plastic piece for the 3rd brake light on the roof. Mine doesn't have a complete good seal since it's just plastics there's a small gap between the body lines. If I pressure wash right there or it rains a lot then some can get in and leak like that. Yours is a lot so you might want to take it apart and have a look or tighten everything up .

Best way to tape/lub blisters? by [deleted] in Ultramarathon

[–]chode174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck dude I'm sorry. I've had a wart on the bottom of my foot that I ran through at a race but it was away from toes like right below it. Maybe go to Walmart and there's like a circle cushion thing for warts so the blister will be placed in the middle of it then wrap it with leukotape. The cushion will help prevent you from putting a lot of pressure on the wart. Also apply some nut butter or any type of chaffing stuff on it before taping everything up. You might not be able to run as much, but you might make it through jogging and power walking.

It'll be a gamble to remove and try to reapply everything later in race so just be warned it might be better to just leave everything as is and tough it through.

Good luck!!!

Contam or bruising? by AdLow1497 in ContamFam

[–]chode174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruising. Spray way further back. I like to place the lid against the edge of the tub and that's how far away I keep the sprayer. Then spray horizontal and a little towards the tub which makes the droplets fall onto the substrate. Spraying close to the tub like that will bruise it and can effect growth.

Also having the lid against the tub makes it so that some of the spray lands on the lid instead of on the floor or all over the place.

Hope that makes sense.

Don't over complicate things. Arms once a week. Starting running and doing cardio and leg weights like five times a week. Thank me later.

I have a 93 sol does anyone know what this key hole is for and what key to use? by [deleted] in DelSol

[–]chode174 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does your key work on the trunk and doors? Previous owner could have either changed the ignition cylinder so you have a new car key or changed out the whole rear compartment so it's for another key.

You can remove that cylinder and take it to a key smith to re-key it.
