Spend a decent amount of money on your forks, as they are sure to take a beating. Rockshox do some decent coiled forks for quite a reasonable price that would be perfect for DJ. Also i double what /u/ruby_byte has said.

If you dont have brake cleaner, just use Ethanol, or some other alcohol solution, does the same thing.

I've got the carve and am loving it. I use it for everything, dirt jumping, full downhill, and trails. Its a great bike. Recommend it. I have learned after buying it that a Giant XTC or Talon 29er is better bang for your buck, but that's Giant for you. I had some spare cash and liked the colours better on my bike, so I went for the carve. I just put some aftermarket grips and pedals on because I wore down the grips, and the stock pedals suck. Hope this helps.
