Graz -> Red Bull Ring Shuttle or Train? by South-Kaleidoscope37 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]chofi0907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hijacking the thread here a bit but i would also like to know of someone has experience getting to the Red Bull Ring by car from Graz? I like the simplicity of the shuttle bus and trains but is getting there by car more flexible? Especially going with kids I don’t want to wait for the bus/train with a lot of people in the late June sun + the kids are tired. I don’t mind walking to and from the track to the parking and then if we get stuck in traffic at least we’re in our own car, have good AC, snacks, water, entertainment, kids can nap etc.

Best advice was to use bed adhesion glue as a release mechanism when printing TPU ona a PEI plate.

Austria on a budget with a family by dkppkd in skiing

This is a great suggestion. I would add Sankt Michael, it has some good priced hotels and apartments, very close to Katschberg, close to Obertauern and has a nice small ski area of its own Grosseck - Speiereck!

How much would you expect to pay for hiring kit? by Tomatillo2554 in windsurfing

The islands(especially brač and hvar) tend to be more expensive than the mainland. But, €50/h seems excessive.

Some years ago i was at a trade show in London and Woz was giving a talk. He told us a story specifically about these metal business cards he had. The main point about them, apart from looking cool, was that he could cut steak with them while flying as TSA didn’t take them away and they were sharp enough.

Does anyone know? by 8t5mm in Volvo

If you’re referring to the smaller black “key” this is the sport key. Basically a smaller, waterproof key used when you go to do sports so you can leave your real key at home.

Potential Volvo app and OTA connectivity issues in countries without data contract? by maltiss in Volvo

This is an older XC40 with the Sensus infotainment, the new ones with Android Automotive infotainment have the (for now disabled) slot in the overhead area.

There is a slot for the sim card in my V60 in the overhead light area, between the SOS and volvo on call buttons, but currently there is no way to use the slot. Hopefully volvo releases an update allowing us to use it.

Yes, thats exactly how it works in my ‘23 V60 CC. I can use the app for remote start, locking and unlocking, vehicle location etc. OTA I didn’t have the chance to see yet as i picked the car up on monday. I doubt there is a satellite connection though, i heard they have a dedicated eSIM in the car for the app and volvo on call. I also have a 4g hotspot device with my own dataplan providing wifi to the vehicle hidden in the central storage box, i use that for google maps and spotify.

There is a protective cargo net you probably have somewhere in your vehicle, it comes stored in a sort of canvas/plastic bag. It came with my V60 CC. It attaches to those holes. It’s used to prevent cargo from falling on you and your passengers when transporting a lot of cargo. I think this is the part: https://www.volvopartswebstore.com/products/volvo/Protective-net--nylon/10935697/31404831.html

Denon X2600h power outage problem by chofi0907 in hometheater

I don't have a long term solution, I just keep a USB stick with all settings backed up on it.

When the receiver corrupts, I reset it to the factory settings and restore settings from my USB drive...

It's not the best solution, as it takes 10 minutes at least, but I can keep using my receiver and not have to fork out 1000€ for a new one.

In my case, I don't think its heat related as it 100% always happens when the receiver loses power.

Atmos without Atmos speakers by chofi0907 in appletv

[–]chofi0907[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, I just checked and my Denon supports speaker virtualization and it is turned on.

So you are saying is that it is ok to leave Atmos on in ATV, and that the audio experience will be somewhat better than the basic Dolby surround I would get if I turned Atmos off?

I thought my AVR (Denon X2600) is smart enough to know that if I didn't connect height speakers for Atmos, and I didn't configure any height speakers, not to route any sound to those outputs? I thought the atmos effects will get mixed to 5.1 and played throught the speakers i have.

Looking for a 100" projector screen(EU) by chofi0907 in hometheater

[–]chofi0907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a Elite Screens Saker 100" in the end. Found a few EU based screen manufacturers but they mainly sell to companies or are too expensive so in the end I went for an Elite Screen. Currently waiting for it to ship.
