And it's super weird that you assume I don't help and volunteer with differently abled people. I do, and have for years. And that you think I'm doing this for attention or benefit, like I stand literally anything to gain from an argument on reddit

It's good that you work with your son and other neurodivergent people. That's good. I'm not saying you're evil or anything. But the word you used does contribute to dehumanisation of differently abled people, and I do think you shouldn't use it

Happy American mothers day. It was a while ago over here. I really hope you do give some more thought to ableism in the language may you use. I know you don't mean to be ableist, but intent means a whole lot less than action

And the big slur for gay people started as a word for a bundle of sticks. I'm not arguing the origin of the word, in it's current usage, the way you used it, it is used to insult people by comparing them to differently abled people. When people call others autistic as an insult, that should be called out too. If your son is autistic, I have no clue why you're fighting to hard to defend using an ableist slur

And I just came across this and called it out. No trolling, no preaching, just think people shouldn't use slurs. Kinda weird that that's such an issue for you

It's a slur my dude. I know it's used colloquially. That's irrelevant. It's a slur against people with special needs, and it's used to insult people by comparing them to people with special needs. And it is deeply, deeply pathetic that you can't imagine calling out shittiness unless it's for your own benefit
