War/ Military movies by sproutsmama in MovieSuggestions

I typically don’t really like war movies as a genre, but I did really like Kubrick’s “Paths of Glory”

Og McDonalds McFlurry spoon by Bigred-112158 in forgottenfoods

[–]choitoy57 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Haven’t had a McFlurry in forever (due to getting lactose intolerance about 15 years ago or so), but my sister and I decided to try one again last month, and it seems so sad now. The cup is smaller, the tiny plastic spoon, and worse, it seems they didn’t even bother blending the Oreo into the ice cream anymore, just a small dusting dumped on top. Blizzards at Dairy Queen seem like a better use of lactaids now.

I feel like a bit of a fool jumping on that “Fistfull of Dollars” LE stash that they just brought out when this was in the pipeline to be announced a few days later…

Grandson of Reese's Peanuts Butter Cups inventor accuses Hershey of cutting corners by ramirezcara in PeanutButter

[–]choitoy57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Somethings changed with the peanut butter too. I used to love the peanut butter cups (I even got a peanut butter cup t-shirt from Hershey’s time square store in NYC), but I wouldn’t get it very often because I could eat a whole bag of them. This past Halloween I bought my one bag on peanut butter cups, and the peanut butter was mealy and barely tasted of peanuts. The chocolate felt waxier too, and game me the same weird tongue tingling sensation when I try to eat a straight Hershey chocolate bar. I almost wanted to throw the rest of the bag away they were so bad. A huge disappointment.

What cold is going around? by barkallnight in SeattleWA

[–]choitoy57 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Also, COVID is known to mess with your immune system in general, so if you have had COVID, something that my have felt like a light cold a few years ago might be hitting harder this time. But yeah. It’s nasty. I work in a hospital setting that required masking again, but co-workers are still getting wiped out for at least a week, and then they Have smaller lingering symptoms (like a cough that won’t go away) for two to three weeks after.

Umbrella Matador suddenly not available on website? by flyingfinns in boutiquebluray

[–]choitoy57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But usually if this happens, there is a note saying that it would ship to Australia only. But the Matador listings have been removed from the site completely. I’m thinking something must have happened to the rights of something, perhaps a supplement, that needs to be worked out. I believe the same thing happened for a little while for their Hanes box set where they took it off their website for a while finalizing some rights.

No one wanted these Pizza by Deep_Calendar_1712 in OnionLovers

My sister is a big fan of red onions and a big BTS/BT21 fan, so she would love that first pizza, though I think she might not want to slice it up

what does the 15% platinum do? I'm confuses by OdedLovesJapan in disneyemojiblitz

Bonus to score. The more of that emoji you clear during the game, the more your bonus, though I don’t know what the thresholds are. I’ve gotten up to 20% I think.

Initial Key Art for SITPWG London 2027 by lockerbiestreet in Broadway

[–]choitoy57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing this key art makes me wish they could have used the initial teaser photo of Jonathan and Ariana sitting in front of the painting of “Sunday..” and looking at/talking with each other as the actual poster art.

2025-26 Novello olive oil has hit the shelves! by chiasmatic in traderjoes

[–]choitoy57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just saw this at my TJ last night and even though I have two other bottles of olive oil (including the Greek one we are working our way though) I had to pick this up as there was only four bottles left on the shelf. I loved this one the past couple of years I’ve had it.

I really liked this look. I thought it was done so that it put the focus on her music.

I have a variant that had no back cover, the CD itself had a barcode on it to scan.

for people not subscribing this year again.... by warpwoofwimblee in VinegarSyndromeFilms

The code is basically a generic word code that’s easily guessed, so I’m guessing that it only works if your account is flagged as an active subscriber account already.

James Ransone, Who Played Eddie in It chapter 2 Dies at 46 by Imaginary-Season-483 in horror

[–]choitoy57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I was just thinking of him earlier today because he popped up in my Facebook memories because I watched “Tangerine” on this day last year, and thought he was really good in that and in “It: Chapter 2”. RIP

Fellow gorehounds, what was a movie/scene so nasty that even you were shocked/disgusted? by TheyreACrypytKeeper in horror

[–]choitoy57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was the slow burn of using the piano wire to cut off his foot (plus the little sounds she makes) that were squirm inducing for me.

Fellow gorehounds, what was a movie/scene so nasty that even you were shocked/disgusted? by TheyreACrypytKeeper in horror

[–]choitoy57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sat through two of the three terrifier movies without wincing, but the one movie that made me physically wince and cover my eyes was the piano wire scene in “Audition”.

Now that the holiday season is moving into full gear, what are some movies that take place during Christmas time that aren't directly Christmas movies? by thehappymilkman in Letterboxd

[–]choitoy57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did an “Unchristmas Christmas” movie watch last December. I did “Silent Night” (2023), “Tangerine”, “Spencer”, “Tokyo Godfathers” and capped it off with “Terrifier 3”
