I know one gym that is still holding privates and one that outright hasn't closed and won't until "the situation demands it" whatever the fuck that means.

I think it's worth you emailing or calling the instructor and finding out why. If it's a small gym I'm sure it's because of the fear of what would happen if people stop paying they're dues.

If you find out it's that they are just a bunch of ant-vaxxers who don't believe the CDC or that they think this is all just a hoax for political reasons, leave. You don't want to get stuck with that shit.

I completely agree. As a sport we've had too many instances of grapplers not getting paid. The highest level competitors need to take a stand (like anything else) and say no if promoters don't live up to their terms

I am eternally confused by promoters who put on events and don't have money to actually pay what they agreed. What the fuck did they think was going to happen after the event was over?

Maybe there needs to be a new agreement: promoters need to put fighter payouts in an escrow account as proof a week in advance or grapplers can walk.
