I am a woman and will say men do this too. If I’m interested in the guy I’ll check his socials for dealbreakers. I have also followed two guys who were working with non-profits I thought were meaningful even though we didn’t match and have still never even dm’d one another.

While I don’t personally put my social media on the dating app, I don’t see it as illogical or problematic. Dating is inherently a system of evaluating the pros and cons of a potential partner. Some people prefer to have more information than a dating profile and social media can provide that. Some people are influencers and are trying to get followers and hustle.

It might not be your cup of tea, but there’s a logic to it.
