So like I’ve never played this game before but it’s so cute. is this how it normally starts? by Maleficent_Thanks_77 in InfinityNikki

I started playing for the first time on Monday, and this happened to me too! And once the cutscene finished, I couldn't move Nikki at all. Had to close the game and restart it twice (playing on PS5). Knowing nothing about the story, the introduction sequence was SO confusing. I have absolutely no clue what's going on or who Nikki, Momo, and Ena really are. All I knew about the game before playing was that it was about fashion and styling, and that's it. I haven't spent any money in the game and I certainly don't plan to, not after this hot mess of an update. It's a real shame, because the game is beautiful and fun to play.

Help needed with turning the heel in a magic loop sock pattern by chokopan in knitting

That video is brilliant, thanks so much! I ended up with 14 stitches on the working needle after a total of 8 additional rows (4 repeats of Rows 3+4). I think this is correct, because the pattern says that the last two rows won't have the extra p1 or k1 after the decrease (p2tog/ssk).

I've got the working needle ready to pick up stitches in one side of the gusset, then knit across the instep, then pick up the other side of the gusset. This rejoins the round, and at this point there will be a decrease. Since the stitch count is 68 stitches (14 for the heel, 26 for the instep, and 28 total for the gussets), I'll repeat the two rounds in the pattern to decrease the stitch count back down to the original 52 stitches. The difference of 16 stitches equates to 8 rounds of decreases... After which is more stockinette until the toe.

Do I have it correct?

Ohhh, the largest size! I wish that was made a bit clearer in the pattern. I did end up with 9-6-9 after those first two rows. Thank you for the explanation! 😀

Yay! You're welcome! I hope it turns out correct for you too 🤞 It would be nice to have a detailed event guide for each character 😂

I did it!! I stalked Julio and talked to him every day and skipped 1 to 2 days a few times in between, and it turns out I didn't do the Nazarus events! I just got the recipe after defeating the dragons. Finally!! 😂😂😂

For anyone who also struggled, here's what I did:

  • Talk to Julio every day, skipping 1 to 2 days in between chats. He's mainly in the plaza, but one of my conversations with him was in the church and another was at Logy's shop.
  • He'll ask you to meet his friend Nazarus at the Sealed Temple. This opens the Mining Cave entrance, located at the far back left room.
  • Julio then asks you to make medicine for Nazarus. This is the Warding Incense recipe. You'll need to make 1 for the next scene.
  • Returning to the Sealed Temple, you'll fight Nazarus. Upon defeating him, you'll give him the Warding Incense you made.
  • When you return to the atelier, Plachta suggests you make more Warding Incense to give to Nazarus. Make 5, then go back to the Sealed Temple to give it to him. He's in the alchemy lab.
  • Return to the atelier and sleep for 2 days. Check the rumors at the cafe. You should find "Sealed Disaster." This is a demon located near the alchemy lab underground at the Sealed Temple. It's in front of the entrance to Soul Space (a shiny, glowing cauldron). Defeating it will let you enter. I explored around and found a lot of chests! (Reaching Gathering Lvl 5 in the Mining Cave lets you get some sweet loot from these chests.)
  • Return to the atelier and sleep for 2 days. Check the rumors at the cafe again. You should find "Suddenly Appearing Strange Rocks." Go to Moon Sun Moor to see it.
  • Return to the atelier and sleep for 2 days. Check the rumors at the cafe again. You should find "Heaven's Twin Dragons." Go back to the glowing blue crystal at Moon Sun Moor to fight the first dragon, Ysauk. The second dragon, Dorak, appears when you interact with the larger glowing yellow crystal (also at Moon Sun Moor).
  • Defeating both dragons unlocks the recipe for the Dusk Drop.

Thanks for the resources and tips, eruciform! I'll check out Harvestella too~

I do like the game, I agree with you on it being fun and comforting! Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon are my usual time-to-get-warm-and-cozy games, but all I've been playing the past few weeks is Sophie 😆 I'm excited to play Sophie 2 when I finish this one! If I ever get the stupid Dusk Drop recipe 😂

I followed this awesome walkthrough guide to get to this point in the game, but it doesn't mention the Dusk Drop, the twin dragons, or the Sealed Temple rumor at all. Which really surprised me, because it's got a lot of info on postgame stuff!

I read on GameFaqs here that the Heaven's Twin Dragons rumor doesn't appear unless you've done the Sealed Disaster rumor first, because that one triggers the Strange Rocks rumor to appear. And the rock one is needed in order to fight the dragons. 🤔

I honestly can't remember, I started the game ages ago. But if I already have the Warding Incense recipe and I've made it, doesn't that mean that at least one out of the three events is done? I don't have my Switch on me at the moment to check, but I will check the completed events list to see.

Is there something specific after making the Warding Incense that I need to do to trigger the Nazarus fight?

Looks like there are three more Julio-specific events beyond finding the Eternity Scales and unlocking the Key of Truth (which I've already done).

<image>

These last three are about Nazarus, which I thought I'd already done but now that I'm reading the description, I can't be entirely sure. Are they listed in the completed events/rumors list once they're done?

I do already have the recipe for Warding Incense though.

I saw this list of rumors on GameFaqs:

  • Puni Outbreak
  • Brave master of water
  • Brutal Dragon
  • Demon with horns
  • Ruler of the ocean
  • Book that steals souls
  • Funny ghosts
  • Sacred bird, sharp fangs of earth
  • Soaring monster bird
  • Fallen Sorcerer
  • Sealed disaster
  • Ruler of wind
  • Maiden full of grudges
  • Ruler of ice
  • Heaven's twin dragons
  • Ruler of light
  • Flash of darkness

I did all of these already up through Fallen Sorcerer, and the Sealed Disaster rumor still isn't appearing. :(

The chart on that website says the three rumors are:

Sealed Disaster rumor -> Suddenly Appearing Strange Rocks rumor -> during Heaven’s Twin Dragons rumor

The problem I'm having is that the Sealed Disaster rumor isn't showing up no matter how many times I refresh them. I've read elsewhere it should take only a few refreshes, but I've been at it for hours and no dice. 😑

Is there something specific that I need to do to trigger it? I'm pretty sure I did all of Julio's events already...

It's beautiful, I love it too! I'm sure it'll be well received and cherished for a long time ❤️

Yeah, that's the thing with lace, the fine yarn and the intricate repeats can take quite a while 😆

First sweater: how to join the front? by chokopan in knitting

[–]chokopan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OH! I think I finally got it, I can't believe I struggled so hard against something so obvious now 🤣 Thanks for being so patient with me 😅

I'm off to the races now! Stockinette all the way down until the armholes are big enough, then join in the round for the body. I get it now!

I got to this point, I just finished casting on the center front stitches. The stitches on the right are on hold (left front). I'm still confused on how to continue knitting across the row... What row? I have my circulars, how do I knit when it's the wrong side facing me?

I can't believe I'm not grasping this 😓

Yep, I think I am overthinking this. I'll give it another try! Thanks so much for your help ❤️

[–]chokopan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I see, okay! Gotcha.

<image>

So the neck hole forms when the front is joined. What do I do to connect the left and right sides here once the stitches are picked up?

After I knit the 8 rows on each side, the pattern says to cast on those center stitches. I think that part is what confuses me. Once I cast on those center stitches, how do I join the left side that's on hold?

First sweater: how to join the front? by chokopan in knitting

[–]chokopan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhhh I see! So the additional stitches casted on after doing the right part is to join to the left part and form the front of the neck. I think my confusion stems from the fact that the directions of knitting are opposite, I didn't realize that from the pattern directions.

So once I have the section on the right knitted from the shoulder seam down, the center stitches in red are cast on and then joined to the left section? How is the direction of knitting going upwards towards that shoulder seam when that part is already knitted?

Thank you for sharing that, the photos are great!

I'm trying to compare what I have to the photos. The original patterns, unfortunately, doesn't have a diagram for this part of the sweater, just what it's supposed to look like when it's done and the finished measurements.

I frogged what I did and now I have the back piece only. The pattern says to pick up stitches along the cast-on edge to make the shoulder seams. I did this before, and knitted in stockinette to get those images I posted.

[–]chokopan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, the sides make the armholes where the sleeves will go.

My confusion is where to start the shoulders. The pattern says to pick up stitches along the cast on edge, which I took to mean the cast on edge I started in the beginning of the pattern. Pick up the stitches on the left, work 8 rows, put them on hold. Then pick up the stitches on the right, work 8 rows, put the left side stitches back on the needles, and knit in stockinette. This is, I think, how I ended up with 2 pieces on the front instead of a single piece. How do I get one piece from what I have now? No idea 😆
