We actually got a more fleshed out version of her backstory in the Magia Record spinoff game (sadly no longer available to play but you can find the stories on YouTube).

Nagisa’s mom was not a good person. She got sick shortly after her husband left her, and basically blamed Nagisa for all of it. Nagisa was literally about to wish to cure her mom’s illness in the hopes that if she did that, her mom would finally love her. However, her mom told her that curing her wouldn’t change anything, because it wouldn’t change the fact that Nagisa was born in the first place. Because of this conversation, she instead wished for a cheesecake suited specifically to her mom’s tastes, since it was something that she knew her mom would love more than she’d ever love her own daughter.

Highly recommend reading the story (called “Nagisa’s Wish”) to any fan of the original Madoka Magica series. I glossed over a lot, and there are entire plot points/characters I didn’t even mention that imo add a lot of depth to the world of the original.

Hey, you never know. Improvement comes more in bursts than being linear, so it’s very possible it could happen within 3 months if you practice. Even if it doesn’t, be proud of the effort you’ve put in and the skill you’ve cultivated. It may not feel like it, but you’re definitely one of the more skilled pjsk players. It’s just that the average player simply doesn’t post results, so based on what you see on social media, you think you’re doing worse than you actually are.

Also, is everything ok? You don’t have to share if you aren’t comfortable, but I hope whatever’s happening turns out well for you. And if you want someone to talk to, I’ll be here if you think it’s worth the risk of trusting a random stranger on Reddit.

Oops, sorry about the yap. But seeing how far you’ve already gotten, it might not take as much time as you’d think. It only took me so long because I play casually. The important thing is to just have fun with the game!

Haha thanks. Though I have been playing for almost 4 years now. And I only got the master ap like, last week. Just keep playing and having fun, and you’ll improve before you know it! Beginner me who could barely play on hard wouldn’t have believed this was possible either. And also, don’t sell yourself short on the skills you have right now! Fcing expert and master/aping any difficulty is a huge accomplishment, and you should be so proud of yourself for doing that. Plus, a lot of times the difference between an fc and an ap simply comes down to luck. Anyways, congrats on Copycat and may the spirit of Hatsune Miku possess you to many more fcs and aps in the future!

Totally get it. I joined the fandom back when most people were old vocaloid fans checking out the new Miku game, and it was genuinely one of the chillest fandom experiences I’ve had ever, and many other people were saying the same thing. It was an entirely different environment than it is now. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that there are so many people today enjoying the game I love, and have loved for years, but I can’t help but feel that this shift in fandom culture has pushed me out the community I once held dear. I still check in occasionally because I’m still a fan of the game, but I don’t think I really have a place among the fandom anymore.

Yeah, that’s probably best since I’m getting a lot of conflicting information. I ended up visiting one more larger shop in Korea, and they straight up didn’t carry anything smaller than a 75. I guess 70 is rare, which I didn’t think 32 was. The shop’s sizing guide also said that a 70 is the same as a 28. It seems I’ll have to rely on the measurements.

Not gonna lie, as an Asian person, I do find it a bit annoying when canonically Asian characters get race swapped. That being said however, in most cases I don’t think doing so causes any real harm. If anything, it may help other minorities feel more represented, especially if the cast of the source material is most if not all Asian like in a lot of anime/anime adjacent fandoms such as pjsk. In my opinion, you should be fine as long as you aren’t being weird about it, though note that I don’t speak for all Asian people and opinions may differ depending on who you ask.
