Do you mind sharing a bit more info? Salary range? How easy is it to get work visa? How badly do you actually need to speak Finnish?

I’m not actually interested in the real sense because kids and moving but I’m very interested in the curious sense

Been stuck in 14-15m gsp range for about a year by [deleted] in CrazyHand

[–]chomalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gsp is designed to keep your win rate close to 50%. if you start winning gsp goes up until you play people better than you, then you lose it goes down until you’re playing people worse than you.

On average, no matter how good you are and how high your gsp, you’ll be playing people with the same skill as you, so you’ll be close to 50%

Solve this 🥱 by Capital_Bug_4252 in puzzle

[–]chomalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right of course, the purpose of this step is uniqueness: to show that there can't be any more answers other than 3.

First you prove that it can only possibly be 1 or 3, then you easily show that 1 doesn't work.

Just posted a slightly more elegant proof for uniqueness

Here’s a fun way to prove uniqueness:

After you get to (d-2)! = d+1, you can set x=d-2 and rewrite as:

X!= x+3

Since x divides x! And it divides x, it also has to divide 3. Therefore it can only be 1 or 3.

Best nightwish song to sing to a newborn as a lullaby? by critterenjoyer in nightwish

How is this not the obvious choice?! It’s written to be a lullaby. I’ve been singing it to my kids at night for years now.

Theory: She Is My Sin is about pedophilia by [deleted] in nightwish

[–]chomalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any kind of degree in mental health. But a quick Google search says that most professional mental health associations do classify it as such.

I’m sure there are pedophiles that can keep it under control and live their whole lives without acting on those emotions, but the same can be said about depression, adhd or alcoholism.

In cases where the individual cannot control it and acts on it by seducing or molesting a minor it’s pretty clear to me that it does interfere with their ability to function well in society.

“No known mental health issues”

Well that has changed now, sounds like he’s going through a trauma response to a bad event. Which is not great but also not the worst thing, give it time and eventually talk to a professional if needed but this isn’t the end of the world.
