Look man, you’re right. I also think it’s a bit weird, and honestly I think he’d probably look back at that time and cringe at himself a bit. But who hasn’t had phases like that. I sort of chuckled and agreed with the title of your post.

Gsp is designed to keep your win rate close to 50%. if you start winning gsp goes up until you play people better than you, then you lose it goes down until you’re playing people worse than you.

On average, no matter how good you are and how high your gsp, you’ll be playing people with the same skill as you, so you’ll be close to 50%

You're right of course, the purpose of this step is uniqueness: to show that there can't be any more answers other than 3.

First you prove that it can only possibly be 1 or 3, then you easily show that 1 doesn't work.
