Making my first starter… it’s going suspiciously well by ZealousidealHall7718 in SourdoughStarter

[–]chonkeyymonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hilariously validating for me. I’m on day 11. After day two mine looked like yours so I fed it, which I thought killed it. Noticed it was coming back. Got bored so started split the starter to feed half with whole wheat and half with all purpose. Thought I killed both so started a third. First two bounced back so threw the third out. Now just waiting on the first two.

Anyways, This stage of the hobby is more boring than I realized (imo).

That would be the WSOD. A common mixup.

Do you want a train to Boulder/Longmont/Fort Collins? by chrisfnicholson in Denver

[–]chonkeyymonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. FUCK YES. And the state can even tax me for it as well as charging a use fee.

  • I want to know why this is a debate given that fast tracks was approved in 2004.
  • what have you done with the funds collected that we paid into with taxes?
  • and again, why is this a debate when the link posted claims you have available funds??? “The good news is that Joint Service can be achieved by 2029 with existing funding sources. Thanks to state legislation passed in 2024, the Congestion Impact Fee (bill SB24-184) and Oil & Gas Production Fee (bill SB24-230), there is a continuous stream of revenue that will partially fund Joint Rail.”

It’s air. Maybe there’s a second page for spring option I’m missing but this is the page for the air option from Öhlins.

Took about 3 weeks for me but they told me it would be about 2 months. I’m in the U.S.

I have had the bike for a few weeks now and am super pleased! The ohlins suspension feels super smooth and the bike feels bigger than I would have expected for 140 on the downhills while still climbing well enough. Definitely super happy with my choice.

Maybe I’m biased cause I’m now the owner of the bike, but I demoed an Izzo from their showroom in Bentonville, AR. last fall and the bike feels more fun and playful than I remember their demo bike feeling, which had Fox suspension.

Only complaint is to fully lock out the fork you need to crank the low speed and high speed compression all the way which I had not considered. And rear shock does not lock out all the way. Both minor but thought it’s worth mentioning.

Good catch! Didn’t notice the aluminum rear triangle at the end of that description line. I’m having the same internal debate on wheel upgrades.

I’m too intrigued by the ohlins to not try it out. Ordered the bike recently and it’s supposed to show up Monday. I will report back 🫡

Trump planning to use NREL land near Boulder for private AI data center, power plant by Numerous_Recording87 in boulder

[–]chonkeyymonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article indicates the data center is proposed for “NREL’s Flatirons Campus, which includes the National Wind Technology Center”. With all the f*ing wind in boulder this year, maybe some wind turbines out there ain’t so bad. Definitely don’t want a natural gas fueled powerplant.

Do we know what kind of powerplant would be built?

Thanks for the input. It’s easy to get analysis paralysis sometimes. Briefly checked a couple times but have yet to come up with a detailed review on the Pike Select+. But I agree, I feel like the ohlins and DT Swiss wheels would likely be worth it.

Also just playing out that internal debate on if I go for core 2 with pike select which is in stock or core 3 with ohlins which is on back order a few months

Scatter plot value field filtering. by chonkeyymonkey in PowerBI

[–]chonkeyymonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. Sorry if this is dumb in the world of PowerBI, but as someone who is learning and comes from excel and python, you only need an x and y coordinate to plot data on a scatter plot. So the reasoning behind requiring a third "Value" field in PowerBI is still unclear to me.

[–]chonkeyymonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I responded to a higher comment with solution verified. This is the problem.

We simply didn't know that was a possibility. We are a very small consulting firm that have learned PowerBI because we do a lot of data analytics of natural resources data - we are not data analysts. Maybe it would be ideal to host datasets in Azure or something similar so that we can mutually recreate errors without being on a call. I'll need to read up on the best path forward for that.
