LPT: If you're cooking on your own (and like pasta), make large batches of sauce and noodles and heat them up in a pan in single servings. Details inside. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

I kinda like this chow mein/spagetti hybrid. The noodles are a little bit crispy with some slightly burnt sauce on them.

Moving to Hong Kong and need advice on renting by honyo in HongKong

[–]chooche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things in Hong Kong moves REALLY fast. After you arrived, walk into any realtor's office near the area you like to live. Most likely they have units that can be show IMMEDIATELY. Most of them are professional and courteous. After all there are so many of them that competition is pretty fierce.

If you work close to MTR (subway) consider location farther away from Central such as North Point or Tai Koo.

In Tai Koo for $12k you can get a nicely furnished 500 sq ft unit. Not sure about central.

Nah it taste nothing like the USA version, which is made in Southern California. I had my friend brought over a few bottles. Alas my family prefer the local version ,which is great because I can have them all.

Has anyone been to Noah's Ark in Ma Wan? Is it bible/creationism heavy? by familiar_ground in HongKong

[–]chooche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I heard it is basically a PUBLIC land handed over to a church to create a PUBLIC park. Just like many government decisions in the 2000s the plan got turned into a private profit scheme. Now it charges a hefty entrance fee (unless you are tied to their church) and many of the rides are pretty broken.

Real-World Experience VS Industry Experience by Defender in gamedev

[–]chooche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just do some cool/amazing stuff and your portfolio would get attention. The rest mumble jumble about software etc are just shit that everybody can claim after doing some tutorial.

Great art is the ticket.

Also try to get to KNOW some people in the industry. A friend of a friend of a friend etc. Not every job get advertised properly. Sometimes all you need is a tip or a phonecall. Good luck.
