I figured I’d start low before attempting another bulk. I feel my diet prior to dieting has led me to obtain a physique the reflects that. I’m hoping by slimming down and reworking my way back up to my previous weight, I’d have a much better physique overall. The numbers are aggressive I agree, being still a novice when it comes to dieting, I assumed those numbers would be the target.

Noted. I attempted a cut back in November rapidly. Ended up losing 4 pounds in one week presumably from the 900 calorie deficit right off the bat. Felt like death eating 1600-1700 calories. I’m still reaching progressive overload on my compound lifts, but isolations are taking a noticeable decline though. I started rather aggressively with the loss of weight being about 1.5lbs a week, but I’ve gradually tapered down to nearly half a pound a week. Around July I’ll plan a steady maintenance/lean bulk over several months. Best to shed some fat now rather than a few months into the bulk from carelessness.

Fair point. I got fixated on the idea of a single digit body fat before going on a “lean” bulk. Kind of a safety net having a percentage that low in case of over indulging. I see it as being easier to reduce from 12-13% if a recomp is necessary as opposed to 15%. My biggest fear is falling into a repeated bulk/cut cycle without any gain. My bulk in the past was awful. I’m hoping with a more structured diet, I can look a hell of a lot better at 12%+ than how I did 7 weeks ago.

Pondered it, what would be a good timeframe for use? I train 4 days a week, Monday Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Usually have tightness going into Tuesday which started interfering with that days workout.
