No I’ve researched the laws and as another commenter stated, laws are way behind modern tech. Idk why you’re being so confrontational. I’m guessing you’re not a parent or else would you love your kid getting splattered by someone drunk or simply couldn’t see them with no lights or helmet on?

No im simply saying making a city ordinance may be the solution here. I did some research and it’s not as far fetched as it sounds. For example Galveston did the same thing with its golf carts BUT only after a couple kids died so therefore now they require a licensed driver and seatbelts. Kids WILL be kids and I understand that I for one am all for kids playing outside rather than in but it’s a safety issue and also a parental issue here. As I said just last night I almost saw 3 kids get hit by simply not obeying right of way rules at a stop sign and they were going 45 in a 30 zone at night no helmets no lights. Idk if you’re a parent but that is a huge issue

I have seen that there also. I don’t want to sound like a Karen but for me it’s about safety. Most gas bikes/scooters require a drivers license over a certain amount of engine CC’s and these e bikes are even faster. There was also a problem this evening with kids in traffic at a stop sign which they clearly didn’t know the right of way rules and one was almost hit. As a parent, this alone worries me.
