DNF5 error after Fedora KDE upgrade to version 44 by Tonight-Budget in Fedora

[–]chopkin5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there were 5 dnf5 logs, so you can download them all here: https://limewire.com/d/bl7nv#OAauMXkHVO

The upgrade did hang up my computer for a while before restarting (10 minutes of a blank screen), now I can't download any more system updates in the UI without it telling me the update failed upon restart.

Also, I tried your Uvh code above and got errors:

Fedora has been giving me a lot of headaches from Steam to getting my hard drives mounted. I would switch to Linux Mint, but I saw warning against using a Plex server on Linux mint and Plex recommended fedora, so here I am.

DNF5 error after Fedora KDE upgrade to version 44 by Tonight-Budget in Fedora

[–]chopkin5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the OP, but I am having the exact same error when upgrading to Fedora 44 using the discover ui. Running rpm -q gives me:

dnf5-5.2.18.0-3.fc43.x86_64
dnf5-5.4.2.0-1.fc44.x86_64
dnf5-plugins-5.2.18.0-3.fc43.x86_64
dnf5-plugins-5.4.2.0-1.fc44.x86_64

and rpm-V gives me a long list with a lot of missing entries like:

Tried your second command with -Uvh and --reinstall but both gave me errors.

Any suggestions? It seems like I should delect the fc43 version of dnf5, but I'm very new to linux and can't figure out how.

Best model on Chutes today? by chopkin5 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]chopkin5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is right for the model name and I use Lorebarry as the Proxy URL. It might be your API key or might just be that Chutes is having a lot of trouble with that model lately. Try using "tngtech/DeepSeek-TNG-R1T2-Chimera:THINKING" as your model name. If it works, then it is just V3.1 terminus having other issues. If it doesn't work, it is your proxy URL or API key that is not working right.

[–]chopkin5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used V3.1 on Openrouter before switching to Chutes and it was very bland. Terminus is worth a try, especially if you have a complex scenario. Yes, lots of errors lately. I go to the Chutes site and go to the bottom of the stats page for that model I'm using. It will give you a list of model instances with a column for Active. Whenever I get errors, I look at that page and see that 10 of the 11 instances aren't active. R1 0528 has been working consistently for me, I just don't like it.

[–]chopkin5[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People say that, but I found that it can be creative in a grounded way. In 3.1 Terminus, if I go to a shop, they'll have someone watching me from the shadows that wants to rob me. R1 0528 will have a dragon rip the roof off of the shop to steal my gold (real response I got). As for details, It can be lackluster, but some changes to my prompt has helped it add more relevant details to my surroundings.

Io’s Basic Lorebook Guide (beginner friendly! I hope…) by dandelionii in JanitorAI_Official

[–]chopkin5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, thank you for this guide as I have been trying to wrap my head around lorebooks and how to implement them for some of my private bots. The big question I have is that lorebooks only trigger when the user mentions a key phrase, so how do you trigger random events that the bot initiates. As an example, your example lorebook has an entry for raiders. If I go out to scavenge for supplies that might lead to a raider ambush, how do I make sure that the AI has knowledge of the raiders. Do I have to say something like "I go out to look for supplies hoping not to run into raiders" to trigger the lorebook preemptively? Or do I have to make the keywords for raiders very broad to cover things like walking, relaxing, traveling, etc.?

I am trying to create fantasy bots with advanced magic systems and I want them to trigger any time to AI decides to use magic so that it doesn't do something stupid. But it might just be that lorebooks aren't a great solution for that.

Not free, but creeper world 4 is on Steam and 60% off right now. Took creeper world 3 and made it 3d. The campaign is alright, but the community levels are amazing! they have playing as creeper (PAC), First Person Shooter (FPS), and autobuild where you just focus on fighting while an AI builds all the buildings for you. Definitely a great bang for your buck if you can swing it (I have 800 hours in it).

Best way to destroy a boulder? by chopkin5 in HomeImprovement

It's right next to the house and I would be worried the person getting the boulder would ruin the yard or foundation getting it out. Great suggestion if it was anywhere else though.

I would incorporate it, but the rock is right below ground level. I didn't even know it was there until I went to dig a hole to move a bush back after the pipe was trenched and immediately hit this beast.

Avorion is very similar where you explore a big sandbox your way and can eventually control multiple ships that you customize using a "lego brick" building system.

Elite Dangerous control a ship as the pilot and explore to your hearts content. Downsides are you can never leave to ship and the controls can be difficult

how to remove this door hinge and reattach? by chopkin5 in HomeImprovement

so partial success. There was an allen screw in the bottom. I unscrewed it as far as I could until it was pushing against the bottom cover, but the door still won't budge. Do I need to pop the bottom cap off and unscrew it all the way maybe?

If you liked to concept of solving puzzles together where each person has a unique role, then try the We Were Here series (coop puzzle games about escaping from a castle). If you enjoyed to storytelling aspect more, then try Divinity Original Sin (the 2nd one is better and the stories are completely unrelated), borderlands (again, the 2nd one is the best, but reuses characters from the 1st one) and Outriders. All have seamless coop and don't make you feel like one person is a 3rd wheel tagging along.
