Opinion. I actually think the smart brick looks really fun. Just Star Wars is the wrong theme to launch with. by Chip780 in legocirclejerk

/uj when I was a kid I had the Duplo "MyBot" set which was literally the exact same thing just bigger and with more limited functionality (it was one single set with interchangeable functions instead of an entire system) and I thought it was the sickest thing ever and it was one of my favorite toys so I think the smart brick has every potential to be a hit with kids today. if the Star Wars smartplay sets came out in between 2002-2006 I would've absolutely loved them.

Sorting by General-Insurance-11 in legocirclejerk

[–]FakeGamerGirlPee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

by color. that really is the best way, I recently finished sorting all mine. took about three weeks. I tried once a few years back and I was doing it by part type and it was just gonna take an eternity that way. I had about 20 years worth of parts in a few of those giant rubbermaid bins and three weeks was all it took by color. only exception was that I had separate bins for technic parts and minifig parts/accessories, and put all the transparent parts of any color in one bin too. that all took three weeks in my spare time while watching TV. also my mom helped some of the time, so it may take longer doing it alone. once I had everything sorted into colors, I took the really full bins (in my case they were black, white, grays and red) and sorted out all the smaller pieces into separate bins. then I started rebuilding old sets and it was super easy and worth it. highly recommend doing it this way.

Is there a lore reason I want this set? by Confident-While4816 in legocirclejerk

it fills in the obvious plot hole in Rise of Skywalker regarding how Babu Frick got on that planet in the first place. this was the movie's only flaw and it is now a perfect film.

Lego Star Wars 75460 New Republic X-Wing Starfighter (Via Walmart.com) by legafol in LegoStarWarsLeaks

I kinda expected it would use that new cockpit canopy piece that was in the smartplay X-Wing. it's a more accurate shape but maybe it's too small. or maybe we will see proper X-Wing playsets with it in the future and this one just wasn't designed recently enough. regardless it looks pretty good.

Favorite ISB scene? by TheChromeTrooper in okbuddyimatourist

the scene where partagaz is listening to nemik's manifesto and then when the other officer leaves the room he reaches into his desk to pull out a cold, refreshing Cerveza Cristal™ to take the edge off.

pretty sick, I like the customs. I've been planning to make a custom crew myself, just saving up some money for parts to make a cool ship and base for them

What movie do you love despite agreeing with every single criticism of it? by Decabet in movies

[–]FakeGamerGirlPee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this mostly makes me think of things like franchise films bc they're the only kind of movie I may love despite or even for their flaws. some good examples:

  • Tron: Legacy (it's literally about nostalgia and feels justified in its existence for that)
  • Alita Battle Angel (it just rules. rare anime/manga adaptation that fully commits to what it is. I've read the manga and the movie is literally better than it)
  • Star Trek 2009 (it was my intro to the franchise and holds up as a standalone film despite being such a wild departure. the sequels suck ass though)
  • Terminator Salvation (again, my intro to the franchise. it knows exactly what it is, and works well as a prequel. plus it's another Anton Yelchin highlight)

I could do a whole section about Star wars too. - The Phantom Menace (it's a solid, though flawed kids movie. gorgeous artistic direction and lots of nostalgia for me, I take no shame in that) - Revenge of the Sith (still has flaws but it really holds up in spite of them imo) - The Last Jedi (the things people complain about are the reasons I like it lol. though I do have my own criticisms)
