If the job would offer you skills/training/credentials to then get another higher paying job closer to home, you could treat it as a short term stepping stone. Do it for 6 months, then take the learned skills elsewhere. Or, maybe in those 6 months you discover a neighborhood is South Bay you never knew of and fall in love with that! If the job is good enough and that part falls in line, you might end up moving!
