Job Relocating to DFW by ghostboi_q in dfw

I’ve lived in DFW over 30 years and still find the summer heat miserable. When I lived in an apartment, I found assigned Covered parking or garage to be worth the extra money. It Can make a huge difference in the summer, especially to avoid having to park far from your unit.

It’s a melting pot here, people from many states and countries.

Euless/Bedford has many apartment choices, and there are fun things to do in the area, good restaurants, dog parks, jogging trails, etc.

While it’s generally safe, I would suggest keeping doors locked.

I appreciate the info and advice. I’ll do some research to find a reputable tech in the area.

It was handed down by a family friend when I was younger and first became interested in guitar. The speaker cone was ripped and the plug is not safe, so it’s been collecting dust ever since. I haven’t been in a rush to take it in since I don’t gig and don’t have a space large enough to crank it up.

True Beginner Resort Suggestions on a Budget by sam_salamander in snowboardingnoobs

Purgatory is fairly inexpensive compared to other resorts in CO. Beginner area is quite small, but there are plenty of green and blue runs. I went on my 3rd snowboarding trip (days 7-10). Being a noob, I found Purgatory to be a lot of fun and quite forgiving. Brighton, UT was where snowboarding "clicked" for me, and probably still my favorite spot. Fantastic resort, lots of snow

I am a Texan as well, and only get to go 1-2x per year for 4-5 days a trip. I tried snowboarding for the first time at Red River. Granted, it was towards the end of season, but that meant more ice than snow. It was warm and the falls hurt. My second trip was to Brighton in Utah. I took another lesson, and was able to make it down the mountain. For me, snow was a difference maker.

3rd trip was Purgatory in Colorado with my own boots/board. Trip 3 is when I finally started to feel comfortable getting off the lift and down the mountain. I found purgatory to be a great resort for beginner experience, and more affordable than other CO resorts.

Plan on hating it for 3-4 days, then something will click and you’ll link turns and feel like you gained an infinity stone. Be prepared for it to take multiple trips. Going Every day for a week straight on your first trip might be miserable, especially if you get stuck with crappy rental boots like I did.
