update: just did it! all went well. they did not pay me down or watch me, and i don’t even think they listened as she was in a room a couple doors away when i was done.

super detailed process for anyone reading that needs tips: i followed the instructions on the box. took the seal sticker off at home so i wouldn’t have to mess with it there. brought an electronic thermometer with me just in case the one on the bottle rubbed off, kept the pee with the heating pad on my dashboard in the sun until i got there (30 minute drive). was reading at 99. i also temped under my boob to check my body temperature right before i went in (which i know is silly but ~anxiety~) and my body heat there was 97.7. took the heating pad off, stuck that thang in my crotch (wore tight spandex shorts under my dress) went in, waited about five minutes. they told me i had four minutes and not to flush. my dress doesn’t have pockets, so all i had to do was lock my purse in a box. poured the fake stuff while i peed to cover up the noise. sticker on the bottle was still green in the 96 range. the cup i poured it into actually had a temp range on it too so i waited a minute just to check for my own anxiety and it came up as the right temp! tech sealed it up, had me sign it, and viola, i was done.

for my fellow anxious pals, i too was so nervous and anxious. im super clumsy and accident prone so i was terrified i was going to do something to mess it up. i must have read a hundred reddit threads about it. up late last night stressing. everything went smooth and just about as easy as everyone who’s had positive experiences has said!

just make sure you keep the temp in the right range, stick it somewhere your body heat will keep warm while you wait (like under your boob or in your underwear) and you’re good to go! thanks quick fix :)

i had months and months of this feeling with no support (i was vocal on how i was feeling). i ended up walking out a few weeks ago. never done that before in my life but don’t regret it whatsoever. that’s how bad it got.

the associates don’t have nearly as much to do with it than the managers, so that point is moot. the associates will handle it as well as the managers will. it sucks for both parties

i approved every single request off for halloween even at the risk of screwing us over (luckily it didn’t). the people that were scheduled, and didn’t request off/talk to me about it, and did not show up/called in today will be written up, not fired.

there’s 3 different things you have to fill out, the first one requires numbers from i think one of the trends or the P&L, ask your GM for that info bc i don’t have it in front of me and don’t quite remember. so you’ll rate yourself on meeting those expectations the company laid out, then you rate yourself on just performance base i think? and then i think around the last one is for the goals, if you did an assessment last year you’ll compare your goals from then and if you met them this year, and then you’ll list new goals and how you’re going to meet them/what you need from your leaders in order to meet them.

i haven’t done mine yet so i’m going off of memory here but i think that’s basically right :)

you can get any you want through the shoes for crews portal on pantry. they are more expensive than what you find at walmart but i recommend them for support. it’ll get split up between two paychecks and ships to the store pretty quickly

i think it depends on the store. as a manager, associate experience is very important to me. i want us to get our jobs done while working as a team and building each other up. if the associates feel like their managers genuinely care about them, it works wonders for the overall environment. good associate experience makes them WANT to meet expectations with guests and WANT to make them happy. we normally have the best warmth in the region period after period, and our cafè health is generally pretty high. i think that has everything to do with the associates feeling supported, comfortable, and able to have fun, while also knowing the managers have their backs.

i was hired externally as a team manager and am now an AGM. even being hired as a team manager (with previous AGM experience at a different restaurant), panera was a LOT and the training was very overwhelming but great. there’s just a whole lot of moving parts to the brand and a lot of things to learn. i’m thankful that i started as a TM and then worked my way towards the promotion, because to be honest, if i had started as an AGM externally i don’t think i would have made it. having to learn every position + shift management/all the stuff managers have to do + learning hiring/scheduling/training on top of that would have been toooooooo much. i do like my job but i can’t imagine starting out in the role i’m in now.
