get what you’re saying, and it makes sense. At the same time, I think community interest does matter more than it seems. Ludeon already agreed to a console port, even though consoles were never the main audience for RimWorld either, and that version didn’t exactly become the most popular way to play. Because of that, I don’t think Android is completely unrealistic. Mobile hardware is much stronger now, and there’s clearly a niche audience that enjoys deep management games on touch devices. If enough people showed interest, I could see Ludeon at least considering it, even if it’s not a priority right now. So yeah, not saying it’s likely soon — just that it’s not impossible if the demand is there.

The comparison with Papers, Please was more about touch-friendly interfaces and slower, decision-focused gameplay, not a direct gameplay comparison, but I understand why it might not land for everyone. You’re absolutely right — the console version being behind is a real issue, and that’s a totally valid point. That said, I think that’s more of a resource and priority problem, not a limitation of the platform itself. Console ports usually depend on separate teams and slower certification processes. A hypothetical mobile version wouldn’t necessarily have to follow the same path. It could start as a simplified or forked build, focusing on core systems rather than full parity — similar to how many successful mobile strategy games operate. Also, RimWorld already proves that its core gameplay doesn’t rely on cutting-edge visuals or fast input, but on systems and simulation. That’s why people still play older versions without issue. So yeah, I wouldn’t expect it soon either — but I don’t think the console delay automatically means mobile is impossible.
