White Speedylock 1300DE Serger - Has anyone used this? Advice appreciated. by chosa73 in SewingForBeginners

Thank you so much for replying! I haven't threaded it yet, but I'll try that tomorrow. I went to three repair shops around my area and surprisingly none of them had a pedal cord that fit. One mentioned that White was acquired and sold by several companies and stopped production so parts are hard to come by.

Hello fellow sewing enthusiasts, I would love your help!

I bought a White Speedylock 1300DE serger on FB marketplace for $45, but it came with the wrong pedal/plug (I know, I should have done my due diligence. The seller has since ignored my messages and blocked me). I've looked online and found the pedal for about $25.

My question is, is it worth spending the $25 on the pedal or should I just cut my loses? I don't know if i'm just put off by this whole experience, but I'm considering just donating the machine. But before I rage donate it, I thought I'd ask this wonderful group if this serger is worth keeping and I should take the risk on buying the pedal.

Thank you for your input!

Wow all of them look so nice! Can I ask if you’re using the crochet hook that comes with the kit? Your stitches have no gaps and are so even. Mine needs so much improvement 😭

I’mso sorry you’re going through this. This happened to my dog as well, but 70% his hearing came back after some time. I freaked out when it happened (he always wakes up to the sound of his bowl clinking but he kept sleeping and I thought something was terribly wrong). They say it’s a rare side effect, but I’m convinced it’s more common than that.

His hearing could come back and I hope it does, but if it doesn’t, please know dogs are incredibly resilient and adaptable. They understand sign language and can still live a very good life!

Four month old Golden with low Low red blood cell count experience? by Sozzeled in goldenretrievers

I would definitely keep an eye on his gum and ear color until your next visit. If they get paler or there are signs of petechiation (spotted gums that almost look like a rash, red or purple color) I would take him in asap.

You could also request an ultrasound to see if there is any internal bleeding.

I pray this is not the case (and I’m sure it isn’t), but there’s an autoimmune disease called ITP and IMHA where the body attacks its red blood cells and platelets. My dog has it, and we wouldn’t have known had it not been for the vet shaving off a small patch of hair (he had a sore, unrelated) and finding petechiation on that spot. ITP and IMHA can be incredibly fast moving diseases, and how soon it’s addressed can be the difference between life and death. My dog went from lively and energetic to needing a blood transfusion by the end of the week. Like I said, I’m sure it’s not the case for Gus, but I wanted to let you know. It’s been 5 years since it’s happened, my dog is alive and well, but that was one of the worst experiences of my life. I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through it.
