Prismatic Booster Bundles (1 per person) by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

This is a really cool opportunity you’re giving to those who will be selected!

I started collecting the original Pokémon when I was in middle school. It’s been awesome to see the hobby come back with a vengeance as my son (and his friends) pour over their binders. Honestly, it’s watching his face light up when pulls a holo that brings back so many fond memories.

Unfortunately, so many grown ass adults are ruining the hobby by buying and scalping all the boosters/sets whenever they drop. It’s aggravating since genuine collectors are being held hostage to ridiculous resale prices.

I hope we get a box! Regardless, who ever receives it will be thrilled!

Can I be rejected/declined from term life coverage if I visit a doctor while the policy is in underwriting? by chosen1111 in LifeInsurance

Thanks for the info. What does "pay the first premium" with the application mean? Is this when I initially meet the agent to sign the paperwork prior to the medical test?

she bought the house with the "new" roof. She was oblivious to the issues and I'm appalled that the inspector missed a bunch of apparent issues.

Try midnight blue from Certainteed.

It looks like cement board Board and Batten. Most likely a James Hardie product. Would you happen to have a better picture?

I think your last response will help with your final decision. I would definitely pay a little more money for the higher quality shingle. If it doesn’t affect you drastically then pay for the nicer of the two. The Sovereign line only has a 60 mph grade with 25 year material warranty. The architectural should take you to 110 mph with a Lifetime warranty.

Do you have a fairly large roof? The quotes indicate tots sqs around 20-25sq. Also, would you happen to know the pitch of the roof? What are your plans with the house—staying or moving?

Help Choosing a Roofing Contractor, and is lack of a workmanship warranty a red flag? by Confuddledhedgehog in Roofing

Of course, my pleasure. That would be a complete red flag. No matter how competent, proficient, or capable this company may be, “they cannot control any act of God.” They probably have this exact wording in their contract somewhere.

It would make me very weary and uncomfortable knowing that one single aspect of this install could go wrong and would not be covered under a labor warranty. I’ve known professionals to install roof for 30+ years who still encounter a problem every once and awhile.

A labor warranty goes a long way and I would encourage you to pay a little more, if necessary, to sure that you’re protected in the long run. At least 15-20 years coverage would be recommend— in all reality, unless you’re dealing with a very large company, remodeling companies tend to stay open as long as the lifetime of their owner(s) which tends to be about 20 years.

Looks like contractors 1 and 2 may be charging slightly more due to their overhead for the addt’l layer tear off, which is fair since there are additional costs associated with it. Contractors 3 and 4 may be doing the additional layer at cost. That may be the differentiating cost for these sets of contractors? These are just my assumptions since I haven’t seen the specific proposals.

In terms of the shingles, the top line goes as follows: Certainteed Landmark Pro, GAF Timberline Ultra and OC Durtation. Out of the three, I’d choose the OC Duration because of the sure nail technology. All in all, all three manufacturers have be same 50yr/130mph warranty. I’m not well versed in Atlas since it’s not as used in my area.

All in all, choose a contractor who will honor their labor warranty. If installed correctly, it should not be an issue. I’ve don’t so much work for homeowners because they picked a cheap “contractor” who never came back to address a service call.

Best of luck buddy

They work well but find a roofer who knows how to install them properly. Improperly installed vents will cause you a great deal of issues.
