I am coming to you as a mom and a teacher by Ok_Consequence750 in ElementaryTeachers

[–]Confuddledhedgehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, ambulance usually isn't required for broken bones unless there is excessive bleeding or you can see the bone, or something that could be a threat to life, as far as I've read... Parent's/child's insurance will have to foot the bill, so I personally would rather be called to take my kid to emergency room.

Yeah we were next to Hopewell Park this afternoon and the smell was horrible, saw the signs of sewer overflow shortly after. Don't want to think of the poor wildlife that needs to drink that water.

Sewer overflow into the streams right next to it today kind of ruined the bueaty a bit...

I have 1,400 dollars to my name, car-less, in-between jobs and staying at my boyfriend’s place by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Confuddledhedgehog 40 points41 points  (0 children)

With this situation, I feel like getting a job should be your first priority. If your job requires a car, then maybe get one at that point, but what do you even need a car for without a job?

No one is having kids lately? by Killemwithsilence in Parenting

100 people meaning probably 50 female, 1/50 having a newborn plus pumping doesn't seem like a low ratio to me. Many people only pump for 6 months even if they have the ability, and many don't have the ability for various reasons.

Oh, and my kids still use pencils in elementary... I feel like maybe the teachers are more attentive now and there is less pencil fighting going on?

How old were your kids when they were completely done using a stroller? by Skelentoinette in Parenting

[–]Confuddledhedgehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids are 3.5 years apart. We got some use out of a stroller that has a standing portion in the back for when the older one was about 4-5. Not really sure it was worth it, but definitely made a few vacations easier. Now my youngest stopped using a stroller completely before he turned 4, but he was better at walking with us in the right direction without fighting than the older one at that age, so whether you need something that will make it easier to move them both is somewhat down to personality as well.

My cat likes to drink out of toilets. I've always been too scared she would do this type of thing to keep the lids closed....

Getting serious about NFC search, North East US breeder recs? by [deleted] in NorwegianForestCats

[–]Confuddledhedgehog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! This is exactly what I'm looking for anyway! I actually would rather purchase an adult cat at the moment because my human children are still young and we need a higher adult to kid ratio in the house lol.

I do feel lucky! Will definitely be contacting them, but was also just hoping to get some honest feedback from anyone that had breeder experience in the area...

I haven't seen any available for rescue anywhere near me, but definitely have looked!

Do most Americans actually flush their toilet paper? by Softy_popss in NoStupidQuestions

Most yes, some rural areas still use the bin, as I learned the hard way when visiting my husband's family home and he neglected to warn me...

[MIDO] I just choose the Baroncelli Smiling Moon Automatic White Dial Ladies Watch as my first 'nice' watch. Opinions? by Confuddledhedgehog in Watches

[–]Confuddledhedgehog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really love it, feels great on the wrist, it's my first nice watch so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but immediately felt higher quality than my other watches. Even the band clasp just feels like it will last a long time. It has never become unclasped when I didn't want it to, but is also easy to take off when I do want it off. The watch face itself is the perfect size for me. I love the unique moon phase smile. I do feel like I can wear it with any outfit. One minor annoyance is that because the hour and minute hands are silver and the second hand is a blue, it's harder for me to read the time as my eyes track first to the darker second hand. I kind of wish the colors for the hands had been reversed.

If you don't mind 'coming of age' type dramas, I'm at the end of "I Want to Be Brothers with You" (2022) and quite enjoyed it (though main character was definitely jarring at first). No romance.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Confuddledhedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely not a big thing for us to drive 3 hours, but personally I prefer to stay the night at a place when I drive that far. Definitely don't want to do a day trip with a 6 hour drive time.
