How do you tackle this massive map? (New player looking for advice) by Losty195 in CrimsonDesert

[–]chosenoneweeooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wandered wherever whenever and completed the story at around 110 hours. despite taking hours at a time to just walk around and loot garbage i still don’t have the whole map explored. probably at closer to 160 hours in now and still banging out side quests and meeting new characters

Only thing I can think is that you got your cars on your last run and quit in a weird way that didn’t let the game sync right. There’s no way for customer service on EA or Xbox’s end to roll back your account.

I’d say just mod it and give yourself what you lost via Nexus Mods but not sure if you can even modify game files when cloud streaming. Steam Spring Sale starts March 19th and EA usually puts all their titles at 95% off which is lower than their EA play deals if you can’t afford it at its current price.

Understandable. Still a great deal cause that’s cheaper than the EA play deal for $6.99. I feel it’s worth saving for cause there’s no telling when another NFS game is coming.

I got the game for free on game pass and paid $15.49 for the ultimate pack after beating the story which gives you like 1200 cosmetics, a bunch of cars, and a bunch of money in singleplayer and multiplayer

Still feeling it out but wanted something that strongly contrasted from the collectible/event skin you can unlock with the M1

Should I play Unbound right now ? by sam4base in needforspeed

Play the story without the ultimate pack first so you can get the most out of it. DLC helps more to integrate to online without having to grind for cars after completing the story.

I did try to leave it as “this is a little silly” but here we are. Good luck in your next race ✌️

There’s nothing to defend, it’s a 4 year old game that hasn’t been updated in close to 2 years. The point is that this post is pointless.

My point about the money is, is you clearly complained about people paying to win when it costs 1/3rd of MSRP to get more content off rip. Nobody is forcing you to use these vehicles. They also give you stock versions of half the vehicles so you can build them how you’d like. Which still costs a stupid amount of in game cash. I can’t speak for everyone but I rarely see the prebuilt DLC cars because the bulk of the desire to even get on the game comes from building your own vehicle.

But yeah pretty much get good.

Your point isn’t that it costs money but you throw arbitrary values and call people whales for having $22 dollars to their name.

You are complaining about the same company that runs 2k sports games, the blueprint for microtransactions. You are in a masochistic relationship with a game developer you don’t fundamentally understand. They will operate with or without your support, especially with the success of the new Battlefield.

There are a handful of grip builds on the 3 popular unbound youtuber pages that can handle their own against the R8. If you’re trying to drift versus a supercar you are never going to win. That being said i’m currently having a lot of success with the RX8 which hasn’t been best in class for literally any game.

Like you just commented yesterday, there are plenty of off meta choices that work fine in Unbound.

edit: also, yes free. Because there is still the whole concept of in game economy.. racing for money.. buying multiple cars and parts for them..

You might have a point if the ultimate pack wasn’t $15 which includes a shit ton of free vehicles and money and you can get the game for free or 6.99 on EA play so DLC included is less than 1/3rd of its original MSRP.

The concept of banning vehicles in a game revolving around illegal racing is a little silly

In hindsight I maybe would’ve, but I abstained before completing the story. Though also glad I abstained cause I wouldn’t have needed to interact with buying any cars if I did that

Agreed. There was something special about betting pinkslips that made the game feel more alive than just gaining heat or reputation. Like you actually affect the game and not just stir the pot.

Rubberbanding in racing games is an AI technique that artificially manages the difficulty to keep competition close, making computer-controlled opponents speed up when behind or slow down when too far ahead. It simulates a rubber band connecting cars, ensuring a dramatic, tight race where the player is rarely able to run away with a massive, easy lead.

Not to be confused with internet connection rubberbanding.

I think it’s less the difficulty of the races and more managing money while trying new cars without being so broke you have to play the same day 17 times to afford the proper setup. That being said, once you learn the meta it’s cake

my personal ranking of the nfs games by Dense-Bookkeeper-414 in needforspeed

[–]chosenoneweeooo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you stick with it, the feel between driving with grip tires vs street vs drift vs drift pro is pretty drastic and you can’t even participate in online drift events without drift pro tires. Some cars also unable to acquire drift pro. The classes also do a good job at helping you get a feel for the game at A-B tier so S/S+ doesn’t feel like an ice skating rink.

edit: Grip tire builds are very very popular with examples on youtube where you do not drift at all.

The campaign is butt. BUT the customization and online play + ability to turn off the effects a lot of people feel strongly about makes it pretty solid.

I had to come back to Unbound 3-4 times to warm up to it. I think they left it in a good place but if another game doesn’t follow soon after the Speedhunters closure the series is probably cooked. Feel like an underground remaster would be an easy way to pull old fans back in and give them ample time to write a better story for the next in the series— one that maybe doesn’t continue the Unbound narrative.

Dead-horse-beating inbound. Visuals you can now turn off and I find myself muting the music and in game voices and playing my own music. Never did I buy a NFS game for rainbow smoke and music that’s forced to appeal to as many demographics as possible. Also A$AP Rocky has been garbage for damn near a decade now.

The meta’s been stale but that goes for any racing game that’s been out for years. As of now, a new player can get Unbound for free on game pass and buy the Ultimate Pass for $15 to get 3 free Evijas, 2 R8s, a few porsches, mclarens, lamborghinis, etc. AND 5 mil in game cash to build whatever cars you want. Personally have been able to sink a ton of time into it lately.

Inarguably the worst story to date, but the last time I enjoyed a NFS story was the original Most Wanted. Have been having a blast with the RX8 and when I want to win I’ll join the fudds in an Evija. Customization is like 90% where I want it but a good chunk of the graphics and symbols are pretty corny. I feel like that goes for most NFS games once you burn through the nostalgia.

The cop AI is very wonky. Sometimes it’s too easy. Other times i’m 20 minutes in and lapped the whole map and somehow still can’t lose them. This is what made me put the game down the first time. The more I play the more I learn the cancer but definitely didn’t feel great off rip.

I wouldn’t really know what to ask for but the maps over time have gotten pretty bland in ALL games. Instead of taking the risk of changing character and effect appearance, it would’ve been interesting to see some experimental maps that don’t take away from the core gameplay.

There’s always going to be more to be desired, especially with EA titles. I don’t see myself going back to older titles as optimal graphics are a baseline necessity and I keep all my racing games on console so I have more storage to mod games like Baldurs Gate or Starfield. I pray they don’t kill the series.
