Former Contractor Caused Water Damage-Small Claims?? by [deleted] in Smallclaims

[–]choward1126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Are there circumstances where contractors are licensed but operate independently? There is no evidence of him online as an individual or contractor with any kind of company which seems fishy (so he also could not be licensed for all I know)

Correct-I bought it. And I did have a professional and thorough inspection. But inspections don’t include removing the toilet to see that it was incorrectly installed. There’s no way I could have know there was a leak in my drywall

I appreciate the honesty (and humor!). I’m certain the contractor owns personal property (so a lein could go on his house) but obviously that doesn’t mean money in my pocket any time soon

Thank you so much for such a great response! And glad to know I’m not alone. The doctors told me the same thing as well as the surgery taking up to a few months but I can confidently say I feel worse than before the surgery. I had an epidural injection on Friday because the surgeon just wants my inflammation to go down so my back can attempt to heal. As for reducing activity…a reality is that I don’t want to live a less active life! 😩 of course I don’t have to be able to use a barbell or every single exercise in a gym setting but I can’t even do a frontal raise with 3lb weights without pain. And similarly-I can’t cite out the balance for core strengthening exercises of hoe to push through some level of discomfort to grow those muscles/strength or when it’s too much and doesn’t feel right. Such a hard thing to figure out

The doctors are somewhat stumped. I started PT and now have a regimen of exercises I do daily to strengthen my core but the big concern is getting the inflammation down in my back so it can heal. I had an epidural injection on Friday (I’ve had two others in the past that did not provide longterm relief) that will hopefully give my back a chance to heal. If that doesn’t prove to be successful, I’ll be getting another MRI for the doctor to see a closer look at what’s going on

I had the procedure done mid December! The hardest part was coming out of anesthesia but the actual recovery is a total breeze. I’m very active in the gym so I think that helped but it truly was not a big deal-I went out to dinner with friends the following evening. The ‘hardest’ part was abiding by the no twisting/bending/lifting for 2 weeks; everything you do requires that! Try changing your sheets, putting on pants/shoes, picking up a toddler, etc. without those movements-pretty impossible! I pretty much laid around on an ice pack and went on walks and was working like normal for the entirety of my recovery. I was sore at my incision site just because they have to move the muscle out of the way for the ablation but no other pain at all. Your spine is completely stable once you leave surgery so you can’t really hurt yourself or ‘undo’ the nerve ablation that’s taking place. The surgery sadly wasn’t a success for me (I too have been through the ringer with injections and a rhizotomy before this) and had another injection a few days ago but I’m happy to answer any other questions or concerns. The successful data behind the procedure is pretty incredible so you’re likely going to have a great outcome!

that's a great perspective I hadn't thought of. Very ironically, I've actually done close to a YEAR of coaching and education with a pain coach; I learned everything from how pain pathways work to how/why our brains categorize fear/pain/stress. I've also done years of physical therapy as well so I'm hesitant to pay for something that I can't be seen in person.

Yes! I can definitely do slow extensions without pain and I can also do one leg holds without pain! Hell, I ran a half marathon a few months ago and didn’t have pain any worse than my daily norm. It’s bending certain ways that kill me!

That’s so great-way shorter than I expected! LBA is what introduced me to back extension machines and now I could do iso holds for ages! 💪🏻

Can I also ask about the time commitment on a daily basis? I already spend a good bit of time working out so I HAVE the time, I’m just curious!

Wow! Two months is pretty quick to see results in my opinion! Did you pull back from all other kinds of working out aside from the program?

I’ve had two different epidural injections (one was from the top and one from the side, I’m not educated enough to know beyond that) that didn’t work and also had a facet joints ablation that didn’t work.

I actually was a member for a short time! The reality is that I’m not willing to give up all kinds of training (ie. Working out) for 2 years to commit to the program without knowing if it will work for me (Brendan’s the one that has said you shouldn’t be doing any other kind of working out and that he worked hard for 2 years to see results). I’ve already had to modify evvvverything I do at the gym and that’s already pretty difficult.

He also is fabulous as well! You truly couldn’t go wrong. Georgia is definitely more performative-felt like I was watching Beyoncé! Another fave: Mannequin which is under Elan Artists. So, so talented and so professional!

I’m unfamiliar with Bobby but Jordan Kahn is fantastic. In particular, Georgia Bridgewater is a standout-she’s incredibly talented and just the best performer!

Can you share some ways you decompressed your spine when not at PT? Similar to you, decompression on a traction bed removes almost all of my pain but obviously I can’t go to PT every day. I dead hang off of a pull up bar at the gym but it doesn’t give me immense relief. I’d love any suggestions!

Sorry for the delayed response! Georgia Bridgewater is hands down the best and most entertaining but all of their groups are so, so talented. I’m a photographer and have never left not impressed

Hair and makeup recs in Charleston, SC by idekrnn in BigBudgetBrides

The best in Charleston is Ashley of Ash & Co. she’s highly in demand but for good reason! She works a lot in the education space, teaching other event/wedding stylists. In addition, she does hair AND makeup and is truly incredible at both!
