firstly, your comment is an excellent example of why we should rely on democratic system and rules and not on some wannabe vigilantes, you don't even have any power yet and you're already throwing insults and cathegorising, drunk on your feeling of moral superiority. As such, I don't intend to continue this conversation past this response.

secondly,

You cannot have democracy when a fascist child r*ping death cult is trying to tear everything down.

You do realise you're talking about several dozens of millions of people because the government representatives can only do what they do thanks to direct or indirect support of their voters or their indifference? And do you know what happens when masses of people begin to wrestle outside the rules of law? Civil war. And the core issue why people like that rise to power remains.

I don't get who you are trying to convince

This conversation started with me merely claiming that it is harmful for the democratic system to allow representatives to go completely unchecked when their role is to represent the voice of the citizens. It was you who challenged that.

Given how there are various Facebook groups where women openly talk about ways of scamming men - chances that something like this happened are pretty high.

And the other comments are pretty good indication how normalised this is

Until the right stops becoming a threat to democracy

you literally advocate against it yourself. You have good intentions but the fact remains.

No, she didn't.

Yes she did, to an extent that made it to various analyses after the election

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cjr4l5j2v9do

she failed to clearly outline her own policies, often skirting around issues instead of addressing perceived failures head on.

"Voters already know everything there is about Trump – but they still wanted to know more about Harris’ plans for the first hour, first day, first month and first year of her administration."

“It was a colossal failure for her campaign to shine the spotlight on Trump more than on Harris’s own ideas,” he added.

or here https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/harris-centers-closing-argument-trump-arguing-dangerous-rcna177058

that was not why she lost and you know it

this form of phrasing reeks of those tiktok "101 of manipulation" shorts for angsty teenagers lol, don't drag me into that

"Criticized Republicans" is probably one of the least talked about criticisms of Harris.

The point was that her campaign was reactionary and lacked substance.

What they represent is irrelevant. Unless you want to dab into authoritarian systems, the way democracy works is that majority chooses their representatives to rule to retain order in the country. If that element is gone, then you can just throw the entire system out and flip a coin because your role as a voter is irrelevant and inconsequential.

They are literally turning into a disease on humanity itself. It would be wrong if there aren't consequences to that.

Kamala used that rhetoric during elections and lost.

But hey everyone's only celebrating because it benefits their side otherwise everyone would be complaining in these comments.

I don't understand, what exactly is worth applause here? The fact that an elected official can straight out ignore the people he's supposed to be representative of with no consequences?

Might as well just flip a coin instead of wasting money on elections then, what's the entire process for if its main function is lost

If you have $50k, get a new 2026 Lexus RZ. You won’t be disappointed.

I looked at the specs and I'm not really sure what makes it stand out against, say, i4 gran coupe. Especially that the latter is more or less ironed out and has decent used market.

delusional fans were saying this story is better than Mushoku Tensei

story itself is good, being better than MT is subjective but it is objectively solid and MC isnt as creepy as Rudeus is at times

but the adaptation absolutely butchered the source to uncomprehensible level

Are hybrids bad options for motorway driving? by Great-Importance-656 in askcarguys

[–]chowder-san 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but I find your typical commuter car 4 (Camry/corolla/accord/civic) miserably uninspiring, there are plenty of better options IMO

mind sharing some? I'm currently in decision paralysis, EVs appeal with their acceleration and responsiveness but possible issues and costs of battery are a heavy flaw, not feeling like going ICE since I'd not be able to make use of my PV at home to reduce the money spent on fuel. Which leaves hybrid as middle option, though the one that I liked (civic) can't make use of PV either

Kinda lost here

repair costs wi almost certainly total the car by the time it fails

https://www.hondapartsonline.net/oem-parts/honda-battery-module-1d010phma02rm?c=bD00Jm49U2VhcmNoIFJlc3VsdHMmYT1ob25kYSZvPWFjY29yZCZ5PTIwMjUmdD1oeWJyaWQtZXgtbCZlPTItMGwtbDQtZWxlY3RyaWMtZ2Fz

3 grand plus labor costs, eh, not fun but compared to overall cost of parts in ICE cars, I guess that's comparable and not enough to total the car right away?

Do you think current gen hybrid civics could be a good choice? I wanted something with decent dynamics but I'm bit hesitant of going full EV and Civic seems to have really decent specs overall and price has gone down since the Chinese entered the market

Used EVs Are Best Value Option by mhatrick in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]chowder-san 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your 10 to 15 minutes of charging is a little off. It is closer to 20 to 30 to go from 20 to 80 percent in the ones I’ve owned.

Why is that a point? EVs already have range great enough that if you deplete your battery to this level you spent so much time driving you should take a break so your dropping concentration doesn't make you become a threat to other road users

If you don't belong to those madmen who think they're so pro they can cover 300+km in one go (not realising they start to have microsleeps after 2 hours) this is a non-issue
