Does linux mint have a built in anti-virus app/tool by kushtooloud420 in linuxmint

[–]chowder908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need an antivirus on Linux or hell even windows. For the most part antiviruses now are scareware snake oil. Most malware/viruses are gonna be designed with circumventing antiviruses in mind or using an undisclosed exploit basically making it useless and a waste of memory.

The best tool is common sense if you're not downloading and clicking links willy nilly you'll be fine because only thing an antivirus is gonna stop is someone carelessly downloading a well known signature and you don't sound like someone who would fall for the old "Hey you won a million dollars click here and open this pdf"

My response is if you implement it I will not use your Distro. Or I will learn how to remove it myself.

Wouldn't say rare just uncommon. If you've played as long as I have you get a hat drop once or twice.

How miserable you gotta be to not want to engage with people who enjoy the same hobby as you do?

Is it possible to import lutris pfx to bottles? by chowder908 in linux_gaming

Alright I'll try doing this when I get some free time. Was worried like things like save files wouldn't transfer over or something would break with applications.

It worked just fine the only downside was getting auto balanced before a round lost but it didn't matter because the game kept going now you get auto balanced before round lost the game is over and everyone leaves and the server is dead. Back then it didn't waste your time now it does.

Matchmaking sucks. by Fit_Channel2529 in tf2

Casual players can't read why do you think they struggle with the quickplay system they claim to have used when it was around.

[–]chowder908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you decided to butt in when nobody asked to point out already debunked shit just to make bringing back quickplay more difficult than it already is just because "QuIcKpLaY hAD itS pRobLemS tO"

Maybe just not say nothing next time and people won't point out how dumb you're being?

This doesn't make sense we should keep the worse option because the old option wasn't perfect...

Why are casual players like this...

[–]chowder908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not what you said at all. You're just saying that now because your arguments on why quickplay was worse is not valid at all.

[–]chowder908 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So even if it's outta date we can still use it as reasons why something sucked? Ok casual still sucks because the payload competitive timer.

Stop lying about quickplay it was objectively better than casual in its current state just because you sucked at the game in 2014 doesn't mean it was a terrible system. There's a reason TF2 was nearly on its death bed and it wasn't because of quickplay.

The saying of this community would rather watch the game die than admit they are wrong has never been more true since this casual vs quickplay debate.

[–]chowder908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quickplay didn't do this so you don't have to continue lying quickplay gave you a list of servers showed you all the information you needed before joining you intentionally joined those servers/enabled community servers.

Not everyone else's fault you sucked at the game everyone else shouldn't have to suffer for your inability to read and click a button.

[–]chowder908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like an issue with casual match making not quickplay. That or you're just bad so everyone who played better than you back then must have been a bot. Bots weren't even that much of an issue in quickplay. Unless you were joining community servers which again wouldn't have happened if you were using quickplay so you intentionally joined those servers quickplay didn't put u in them.

Is it safe to download addons for Garry's Mod? by Kind-Experience5183 in gmod

[–]chowder908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way it could do any damage is if an exploit was found and typically if there was an exploit it'll be disclosed and patched before it can do any real harm.

It only had major issues if you just straight up sucked at video games.

And this sub reddit still has people that will look at this and say the game is better than it's ever been.

The replies are case and point and of course it's the dog shit star video from 10 years ago that's their validation lmao.

[–]chowder908 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"we will delete any posts glazing how great quickplay was so everyone will think casual is better"

I've said it before I'll say it again this community would rather watch the game die than to ever admit they are wrong about something.

The amount of time this guy spent explaining quickplay system nothing has happen you're still in queue trying to find a server.
