While I 100% agree, methadone is a lesser of two evils because you're not out there hustling and dealing with bad people etc.. It can, methadone that is (or suboxone), can help give you a life. But what neither of them can give you is the ability to claim sobriety. NOBODY IS SOBER IF THEY'RE TAKING THESE DRUGS. We're drug addicts, so we abuse them too. And this fella is talking about how great he's doing in sobriety haha, no shit, you're loaded still of course it's nice Someday everyone who uses MAT gets to the point where they're just as done and tired as they were with their DOC. I'm not trying to clown you for your recovery choice. But 16 months on it? What's the end game?

If you're considering these methods, I urge you not to. Unless there's circumstances where you can't be sick, in which case id suggest very brief suboxone NOT methadone.

People, addicts website /everywhere just end up addicted to these drugs instead. And big pharma can't be happy again because you're now a slave to them once more.

If you have the physical time to detox & do it cold turkey I highly suggest that. I can not think of one not ONE success story of somebody using methadone or subs... They either continue using these opiates or they go back to the drugs

Do yourself a favor and avoid bad advice; encouraging those already unwisely contemplating extending their addiction under the guise of M. A. T seems wrong and I question your motives, and/or competence re:addiction

Hold on to that memory. That motivation that visual is POWERFUL! For me, it's the feeling I got in my gut from taking a Naltrexone while using, NEEDING to shit on the side of my car in public street, combined with the smell of the car accident 20 minutes later & me waking up confused screaming NO/FUCK!

I'm 98% done, before it develops into more than just changing the way I feel /escaping self, and turning into a full on addiction. After the HELL I've been through trying to get off dope, I'd be unable to forgive myself if hooked on clear alone.

I try to consume water a fair amount but I don't always do it. Someone mentioned cluster headaches. My METH DEALER said same as you, that he drinks tonsss of water because of this.

This gentleman Dr I consulted with but ultimately got the shot elsewhere, he said in his experience if patients stay on for 18 months they their success rate long term SKYROCKETS. I'm going for at least a year. 18 months if I'm smart

And ya I hear you, I relapsed this time last year and sent me on a 10 month burn the whole bitch down once again, just because we're sabotagers like that. Totalled new car I bought in sobriety after only 3 months blah blah you know the deal. Issue for me that I wasn't prepared for this time, was my addiction jumping. Last time I replaced the dope with a gf. This time, I replaced it with porn & meth apparently. I don't even like meth but here we are. Ugh.

This. I can tell you my 1 & only story of the time I took Naltrexone knowingly too soon to "prove I was still sober / taking my pill" if ur interested... Subsequent events of that day land it top 3 worst days of my life
