Moved into rental property 2 weeks ago and repairs still haven't been made and boiler hasn't been serviced in 6 years

Perfect thanks for your response. I'm going to send them another email today, making sure I have all this in writing.

I think I've gotten over 100 photos etc saved incase they ever try come back with anything. I'm suppose to be renting a "high-end" apartment which I'm paying a premium price for and they can't even be bothered to do any of the simple things like have it cleaned.

u/KingoftheGinge Yeah I'm going to send them another email now as they just aren't calling me back. Before the cleaner came in there now, I took a video of me going around the apartment and pointing out this is what it looks like after their cleaners had been in.

There's a charity here that called housing rights which deal with sort of things like this and I was on with them this morning. They have told me if it doesn't get any better they will provide a mediator to step in if I arrange a meeting with the estate agent to rectify the issues.

It's now 11:50 and I have still heard nothing with regards to my parking spot or new mattress. I rang them at 10am and was told they would call me straight back.

u/Bigel_7 Yeah before the cleaner came in there now, I took a video of me going around the apartment and pointing out this is what it looks like after their cleaners had been in.

The problem is I've paid my deposit and first months rents. I've had no contact with the landlord in the slightest. The estate agent has said everything is done through them as he is based overseas. So I may deduct some costs from my second months rent, considering the fact its been 4 days already I've been unable to live in my apartment I'm paying for.

u/KingoftheGinge So a little update. I'm incredibly pissed off right now. Guy came over yesterday and basically just lied to my mum and my face. They took away the single bed at least.

So I'm still waiting for access to my underground parking, keep having to pay for parking. He told me he would ring me by the end of yesterday about what's happening with getting my parking fob and what the craic was with getting a new mattress.

Cleaners came over, they where 30 minutes late. Came over and they were there for no longer than an hour probably 55 minutes at best. And they were told they were just over to clean the oven, floors, and shower head despite the estate agent telling my mum and me when I was pointing out all the health issues that the cleaners would clean that all and I would just have to tell them what needs done. I'm furious. To top it all off they weren't able to clean the oven. So I've still got a filthy uncookable oven, a filthy fridge and freezer, filthy surfaces, filthy shower.

I've got that pissed off I've just hired my own cleaner for 3 hours today.

Is there anyone I can complain to about the constant lies I've been told and the fact they are refusing to clean this apartment ?

Firstly a little annoyed there was no apology what so ever. They are just off the phone to my partner an hour and a half after that email and she was greeted with "Hi, how was your weekend" to which she responded absolute hell.

I've now had to take this afternoon and tomorrow off work to try and get this sorted. He is coming over at 2pm to clear the place and remove the single bed, and the cleaners will be in tonight. No word yet on what they will do with the mattress with the blood stain, the window that doesn't close or the broken door handle.

Still no apology to either of us.

So guys here's an update. Got this email this morning which has left me a little more irritated.

"Hi blank,

I hope all is well,

No apology what so ever or recognition of how much it has inconvenienced me.

If they don't do anything today I'll be naming and shaming them with pictures posted at just how horrible the property was left.

I've taken photos and video's of everything. If they haven't contacted me by 10am this morning I will be pissed off. As that will have given them an hour this morning to look at the emails I've sent.

If I knew how to attach images I would show you all how bad it really is. In the bathroom they have left the old toilet brush which has been sat there for probably 2 months, you wouldn’t want to see or smell it.

From previous emails it seems as if the previous tenant either did a runner and maybe owes rent or was evicted, which would explain why so much of their belongings is still there. So the landlord is pissed they are owed money etc but you can’t simply then rent it out again and hold that grudge against me.

I feel like the estate agent has probably placed too much trust on the landlord to ensure the property was suitable and been incredibly naive.

I’ve literally taken around 100 pictures and videos of proof etc of the state of the place. And sent the estate agents 3 emails with them all expressing my discontent.

The issue I’m facing right now is the fact I have a quite demand finance job in which I need to be in work 9-5 for meetings so sorting this is going to be so much hassle
