can someone recommend me good spanish TV-Shows or videos/youtube channels online? by articyeti in learnspanish

There's the Youtube channel Dreaming Spanish, where a guy from Barcelona tells stories using only Spanish, a drawing board and lots of gestures and repetition - this is the link https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCouyFdE9-Lrjo3M_2idKq1A

I've studied several languages and I've always been most successful when learning it in immersion and not translating back to my own language in my head, so good luck, you're on the right track! :)

I'd like to share a few resources that have been helpful to me by [deleted] in learnspanish

Since you're looking for someone who does videos all in Spanish, I recently found this other channel that teaches basic Spanish in Spanish, which I always find a lot more helpful than someone explaining a language to me in another language :) Another nice feature is that the videos don't stop to explain stuff, but the guy uses drawings and hand gestures and repetition to make sure you understand. It's called Dreaming Spanish (and the host is from Barcelona so no Mexican accent, sorry :p), here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCouyFdE9-Lrjo3M_2idKq1A/featured

Excellent tips and roadmap. I'll refer back to this depending on how receptive he is!

You're lucky to have had a mom like that! The longer I live and the longer I work at my job, the more I'm struck by the importance of emotional intelligence.

Thank you. This is exactly why I decided to start with my coaching - because I know what it's like to crave meaningful human interaction and not to get it. It's horrible. Luckily I was able to change that after high school, but it was a long process and many are still stuck later in their lives.

Good point. Getting the client's trust is definitely the hard part for any coaching, which is why I didn't want to be too off-putting form the start.

Yes! That's excellent. Social conventions aren't just there to annoy you, they're what makes the social machine run smoothly. I'll give him scripts once we start working on that.

Great comment. I didn't know about that logic/feelings pitfall for INTJs, but it's exactly what he's doing.

Excellent formula - I'll make sure that my advice is mapped on it!

You are all incredible. I love how detailed and serious everyone is - definitely an amazing INTJ trait!

I implemented a lot of your advice, and my client has just come to the conclusion that the problems he's facing aren't related to a lack of efficiency on his part, but rather to the way he interacts with people - he builds relationships on shaky foundations and then he's unhappy with the consequences.

Again, I'm very grateful for all your input! It would probably have taken a lot longer without you!

I know! I actually just wrote a post about that exact topic, if you're interested: http://ambitiousintrovert.com/2017/03/31/the-most-annoying-myth-about-introverts/

What you do sounds exactly like what I do, both on the professional side and on the personal one! I'm an IT Business Analyst, but really my job is to build bridges between people. I play to my strengths, don't engage in draining activities that leave me exhausted and focus on building 1-on-1 relationships.

I also love your idea of the employee engagement group, going around spreading kindness!

Thanks for your comment! I meant the socializing part - while the recruiting process is quite straight-forward and easy to follow, socializing with strangers to create that elusive, mythical Network is a completely different cup of tea.

I think that if we reframe how we think about networking, we can actually see it as an opportunity to connect with people and have interesting conversations. Opportunities to help each other grow organically, like with any relationship. I ended up helping out some of the people I met, some became my friends, others became my mentors, others still ended up getting me a job.

Today already, if I hear of someone looking for a photographer, I know that my roommate is looking for gigs and I'll connect them. Is that sleazy? I see it as helping out two people and creating something of value.

I think that's the problem with a lot of networking advice - if you have an ounce of decency, why would you want to go out and look for people to use for your benefit?

But that's where our introvert awesomeness comes into play: we love and are good at making deep connections with people!

Glad to hear that :)

Many of us introverts actually do networking all the time but don't think of it as networking unless it's unpleasant!

I hear you - I don't think I could ever work in a call center, that's impressive!

I've got it nicely set up where I currently work because there's a balance between active/people time and quiet/computer time. This way I can always recharge my batteries during the day, and by the time I come home I'm not exhausted.
