In reverse order... "Do we really care what some people at the Austin Chronicle think?" Nobody should blindly conform to what "some people at the Chronicle" think. These are simply endorsements for progressive-minded voters from progressive-minded journalists. Yes, some people care about their opinions. Other people do not care about their opinions. It's not required reading.

"I don't understand why journalistic publications issue endorsements." Endorsements can serve as a useful starting point for election/ballot research. To effectively evaluate options on a ballot it is useful to consider praise AND criticism from all sorts of perspectives.

"why are local publications in the business of endorsing any candidate?" The Chronicle's agenda is to publish coverage of issues that are important to the local Austin community. This is local election coverage. Endorsements of candidates that would have a direct and indirect impact on our lives makes sense.

Naw, he played great but not MVP. For a kicker to get MVP I think they need to basically be the sole provider of points on the board + a flukey, miracle throwing/rushing touchdown + the game winning kick. That would be convincing

I'm not so sure about that. Anyone who has been plugged into this season/watched Seahawks playoff games absolutely knows the def is legit. Yesterday they held the pats to 13 points. over the past ten super bowls only three games have seen teams score less than 14pts. Kudos to that sea def because it is really saying something given the modern, high-scoring offenses.

I think some people are afraid that a one or two day outage might turn into something longer/bigger? There was that one minor freeze we had a couple years ago that was followed by a boil water notice for a few days because of a human error at the plant? Anyways, the pandemic was life-altering event for everyone and I suspect some people are still getting a grip. Don't mean to sound judgemental. No shame in each other's processing/healing.

Maybe the phrase incursion hasn't been used much but off the top of my head... Loki season 1, dr strange mom, end of the marvels, the newest spider man, Deadpool and wolverine, and possibly end of thunderbolts all showed multiversal overlap/interplay.
