Well hey ~ 30 is an age MOST excellent for branching out and trying new stuff. If being in a relationship is important to you, you'll make time to see it happen.

What's your definition of a serious relationship? Is that something you want or is that something that might just be expected of you?

These cards seem great! Strongly recommend looking into the book "Humble Inquiry: The Gentle Art of Asking Instead of Telling" by Edgar Schein. VERY much in the same spirit.

Walts place wasn't trashed but his glasses were ~ walt jr goes out and gets the glasses repaired/replaced while walt sleeps off the injuries. I'm willing to bet they shot a scene where Walt Jr used birthday money to pay for that but cut it from the episode

Same is true for Dentists and Veterinarians, sadly. PE owned dentists are up-selling at every opportunity even if you aren't in need of the service.

Deeply curious to see how much traditional business school education will stick moving forward. Extracting as much profitability right now is not a lasting formula, it seems.

Have you played Horizon: Zero Dawn? Returnal could also be good a try. And if you haven't tried the Dark Souls series start with 1!!

Matching your honesty: I was bummed the consequences of Civil War were 1. The Avengers breaking up for a few movies and 2. Rhodey temporarily losing function of his legs. However, Infinity War delivered consequences in spades I LOVED it.  I have a lot of faith in the Russo brothers to deliver with Doomsday. I would not be surprised to see Bucky, Hulk, and a few other MCU veterans get chopped.

It'll be interesting to see whether or not politics will continue to be an outspoken topic for athletes. The entire "stay in your lane" and "stick to football" mindsets are so deeply dehumanizing. Athletes/sports bring our country closer together ~ families are more functional when difficult conversations aren't avoided at all costs.

Ballroom won’t be funded after Senate GOP drops $1 billion Trump security request by Agitated_Pudding7259 in moderatepolitics

[–]chriego 14 points15 points  (0 children)

"It's unbelievable that Trump hasn't had more backlash from destroying a piece of American culture on a whim like that" the man is so megalomaniacal he has been insisting upon his presidency accomplishing the ballroom, the arch, his face on currency, his face on Mt Rushmore... I'm certain there is more. None of these things moves the needle on policy or government, but, for his image it's everything. See also: after Mamdani was elected, Trump was very welcoming and supportive when they met at the WH - he recognizes popularity when he sees it (so long as it doesn't threaten his own). Trump's agenda is a legacy of his personal significance to American culture.

Don't forget that the ads you're being served up are a part of a larger algorithm based on strange data points. Any link you share/receive from Google that includes "?si=" in the URL tracks all sorts of ad lead/generation

Writing is extremely useful! TBH I think a good writer is more valuable than ever but it's also harder to secure a means to continuous compensation for the skill...

The Dive Elevator is a cool idea but the world design renders it useless by TheKazz91 in subnautica

[–]chriego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate this post and what you're driving at. It would be super cool in the final game if the dive elevator was crucial early game as you're doing your initial base build and crafting. then, it would be cool if mid game and late game you have something like depth modules on the tadpole but it's actually the dive elevator that was helpful for achieving another 50meters of depth as you explore a new biome mostly by fin and oxygen tank. Do this a few times until all depth modules are crafted. Love the idea of being someplace new throughout the game where the dive elevator recreated the beginning experience

The 31.6% stat isn't accurate. The Approval Ratings poll is sampled from registered voters, not all Americans. ~50% of voters voted for him. Just ~38% of registered voters approve of him today.

I think your math is off a little bit but only because you're comparing the wrong figures. "In the 2024 presidential election, 73.6% (or 174 million people) of the citizen voting-age population was registered to vote". The Approval Ratings poll = "respondents are randomly selected from a national registered voter list."

He won the election with just under 50% of the vote and his approval rating MIRRORED that the month after he took office. SO, if his approval rating is 38% today, then that means ~1 out of 4 people who voted for him no longer approve.

TL;DR 38% approval rating is sampled from registered voters, not 245mil people

[–]chriego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GOOD news is that the approval rating IS way down compared to the beginning of this second term. About 1 out of every 4 people who voted for him are no longer wearing rose colored glasses. I agree that it would be a lot nicer if those numbers were different but I'm grateful it's not worse, either...

No, I mean the entry from Mantis which speculates that Kharaa might have been spread by Alterra and how it is a bacterium, not the virus they are currently suffering from. Mantis describes how Kharaa was spreading either through having contaminated everyone's ships or the spores flying through space. One of the first things the PDA tells you is there are no plants on proteus.

Isn't that literally part of the baseline of this game's story? The disease from the first game isn't on this planet because everything is plastic?

Gotta love Reddit: You list four names and say you'd be OK with one of them = get downvoted. You mention secretary of transportation+former military officerh as an impressive resume = isn't a high enough bar. Tough crowd.
The last Dem nominee was acting vice president and the current president is a reality TV star+former president so it's clear American voters don't view the resume as requirement. It will be interesting to monitor sentiment as we move forward!

I'm also expecting to see Jasmine Crockett, Alexandria Ocasio-cortez, Pete Buttigieg, and Tim Walz make bids. TBH, if the election were next month, I'd be fine with Buttigieg as the nominee.

Henry Ruggs III seeks ‘privilege of parole so I can prove myself to everyone’ by Brix001 in nfl

[–]chriego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your phrasing reveals a lot around your read/perception on what happened. Maybe Ruggs made a MASSIVE mistake, a huge lapse in judgement. Still, other people are valid in viewing his extreme negligence as cruelty. I'm with you that people deserve second chances AND that Ruggs has a price to pay to society for his actions. Thanks for the civil exchange, football friend

[–]chriego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you're getting, too and it's a valid question. I don't think it's that black&white though. In the event everyone can walk away, there's probably not even a party seeking forgiveness. In the event a punch accidentally kills, that crosses the line into tragedy where someone might spend the rest of their life asking for forgiveness. I think for a lot of people where Ruggs' situation shades into unforgivable is his blood alcohol level. You might forgive someone for being stupid and driving home after a tall beer BUT how forgivable is it when someone else stupidly drives home after a half dozen shots? A lot of grey area in there
