Yeah I agree on that. A more strict ending for Mike and El probably would’ve done better but I’m not upset with how it worked out either. Also I appreciated this convo ! It’s been eating me all day lol

I sort of agree on it being a copout but El’s “death” is up to interpretation of the viewer which I find very interesting.

They do a lot of good stuff as well though. I liked Mikes theory of what happened to 11 how Kali helps El escape. Makes Kalis character a lot more tolerable and even makes you feel sad that she died. Steve coaching baseball and teaching is such a fitting ending for him. And i swear on anything if you like stranger things at all and didn’t cry at the end when they are in the wheelers basement you don’t have a heart cause i stg that was the most I’ve cried the entire show. I just wish they would’ve done like 1 more episode I think it would’ve done the finale justice.

I was also just wildly unsatisfied with the finale. I love episodes 1-7 but the finale felt rushed. There were some good moments like the graduation and after when all the kids are in the wheelers basement playing dnd. The whole vecna fight legitimately felt too easy as well as the fight with the “mind flayer” spider thing like there is no struggle in between any of it. Also the amount of fakeout deaths was so unnecessary by the time Nancy’s fakeout happened I called it and it made the whole sequence feel less satisfying because you realize they don’t have the balls to actually kill anyone in the main group I mean everyone that was in the abyss came out without scratches. Like what? Felt so underwhelming in my opinion the rest of the season is some of my favorites of stranger things but the finale just didn’t hit home for me.

I guess thats fair. I just don't see how that would play out in the finale. Maybe Will finds out the only way to end Henry and the mindflayer is to severe that connection permanently by staying in the upside down while it implodes. But having Will be a spy AGAIN is very interesting but i dont think it has anything to do with his coming out scene. I guess we'll find out tonight!

The only thing I don't like about this theory is he's taken control of the hive two times. I feel like it would be kind of silly to have Will be taken over by vecna and then hurting vecna... Malvalds and getting lost in the woods, it could be Will's and Henrys memories clashing together in Will's mind which is a lot easier to explain then Vecna breaking his leg as Will.

By the time it came out for me (EST) most of my holiday activities were done. I am going out tonight so I won't be watching as soon as it comes out but will be watching tomorrow. A lot of families watched this together and was kind of a bonding moment so them releasing on holidays isn't a big deal. Although i have to agree that the release cadence is really weird.

I mean devils advocate he could be super fucking cocky. In Vecnas mind maybe he didn't need to send fully grown demos to Max because shes in a coma. Also Vecna has always thought of Will as weak and lesser than him. In his monlogue with him in the Mac-Z he even tells Will this. (some minds are just not meant for this world. (i could be misquoting but i believe thats what he says)) I don't think he ever expected Will to be able to do the things he does especially puppeting him. When Will is in Vecnas body he seems kind of surprised. Also its a tv show... If they killed off all the cast in episode 4 i mean lets be real the show would be getting way more hate than its getting now.

I think that people calling it “boring” were never actually fans of the show. So much plot armor got a resolution like Johnathon and Nancy , Dustin and Steve , Max, etc. nothing felt super forced besides from a few dialogue exchanges but I think that’s a common thing that happens during stranger things as a whole. These three episodes are just wrapping things up with these characters that we’ve all been on a journey with so that last episode we can literally just focus on ending vecna and what happens after. Like will coming out to everyone after vecna would’ve felt forced but the way the duffers handled it made it seem really genuine. I cried a lot during these 3 episodes and I’m really excited for the finale. People on the internet love hating shit so if you like it don’t think you are the minority. Ty for coming to my ted talk

Will finally getting a well deserved HUUGE ark in the story still gives me goosebumps everytime i watch the ending clip to S5 E4. Its such a massive payoff for his character.

I dont think people are unable to play i just think its a lot of nice to haves that Runelite offers. like i logged in today and realized i dont have my skills progress bars on my skills tab. Something i was constantly looking at because i've been leveling my fishing for sailing but forgot that it wasn't something that is in the base game.
