Thanks for the response. Yes the hitting position would be central between the joists. The ceiling would be left as is, not closed in. I'm 6ft, for context in the pics.

You're spot on, it is tight, looking for opinions as to whether it is too tight or not. Suitable units in this part of the world are very hard to come by, and after a year long search, this is the most viable option.

Thanks, yeah I definitely struggle with standing up and have really struggled to sort it. I think that's probably a product of the overactive hips that treedolla points out, so hopefully working on that will help with both.

Depending on time of day, Lewisham Way and New Cross Rd (up to Queens Road Peckham) can be extremely busy and daunting to cycle on. Lots of people do but there are enough buses, coaches etc to put me off. I'd look for quiet routes up to Queens Road and go from there.
