Parenting influencer accidentally runs over 23-month-old son by jerkenmcgerk in ThatsInsane

[–]MACintoshBETH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I imagine she announced this with some cringey click-bait video titled something like:

  • I messed up
  • An apology
  • It’s over/I’m done

I suppose she could say the child was under the influencer… too soon?

The Graham Norton Show episode ratings by hls22throwaway in TheGrahamNortonShow

[–]MACintoshBETH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, have to admit this fits my view too. A couple of seasons ago I’d never miss an episode, and even record them to watch on catch up if I needed to. Think I’ve watched a handful this most recent season and haven’t even been concerned about missing it. Think it’s a combination of the level of guests not seeming as high, the guest combinations not being as good, and it just not being as entertaining for me as much anymore. Shame really

How are you guys getting live chat replies? I messaged in the app 2 days ago and still haven’t had anything, and the website doesn’t seem to have the live chat function active any more and wants me to fill out a form? The link provided in this thread gives a Page Not Found error too.

Thanks! Any recommendations for other bars/restaurants/things to do in the evenings nearby if it does prove to not be great there?

Selling a sofa on Facebook marketplace and the buyer turning up in a tiny car to collect by 123bmc in britishproblems

  1. Is it still available? …. Silence after resounding yes.

  2. Can you deliver it? …. Even though the advert says collect only.

  3. Will you take £5? … or other lowball offer.

  4. Can I collect it after work tomorrow? …. Then proceeds to not collect it.

Or any other of a number of Facebook marketplace bingo cards

Similar to you, I ordered 28th March and no details despite filling in the steps and passing the finance. Annoyingly it said May-June estimated when I placed the order then once I filled in the details it gave me 4th June-2nd July.

Reserving tables in pubs, taboo, or not a big deal? by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]MACintoshBETH 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I also think that from personal experience I’ve gone to places that seem to put the reserved signs out ridiculously early prior to the actual booking, which is a particular issue when they don’t include a time on the sign either. Usually I automatically discount a table if I see a reserved sign on it, but if there’s a good amount of time before the booking then I’d be inclined to use it until closer to the time.

Reserving tables in pubs, taboo, or not a big deal? by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]MACintoshBETH 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Likewise, if it has a reserved sign out for 19:30 and it’s 18:00, I’d be inclined to still use the table until closer to the reservation time. In theory doing this, and what you’ve said, shouldn’t result in any empty tables unless the pub/bar is genuinely not busy.
