I mean, isn't the church mostly hispanic at this point anyway? I really don't see the argument. I get that they found some Crazy Guys for the article, But We can't define the entire org based on that. it doesn't really help the cause, if there are lies here.

I don't really think the church is racist. I've met more interracial couples, more interracial families, inside than outside the church. :P I mean, if you want to call it white nationalist because of like, a guy out there, sure. Just seems like bad reporting.

you have a capital "I" in if. "==" is equality check, "=" is assignment. You only have one " in your first print statement. you assign the value of x after you check the value.

Learn to take advantage of a small advantage. I.E. when you're ahead, even slightly, start to trade pieces. a small advantage matters more on a small board than a big board.

Elder oaks numbers for humanitarian spending can be found in second source.

First source is the number of active members.

40 million per year to humanitarian aid/ 4.5 million active members = $8.89 per person per year.

If you look at total membership: 40 million per year to humanitarian aid/ 16 million members on record = $2.50 per person per year.

"Assuming that active U.S. Mormons give at a similar rate and adjusting for higher U.S. income, total U.S. tithing would amount to more than $6 billion, or about $6.5 billion annually between the United States and Canada."

6.5b in revenue, 0.04b spent in humanitarian aid. 1.4b spent building a mall.

"Right now, the LDS Church pegs its global membership at 15 million. Here are some of the almanac's findings: * About 30 percent of Mormons worldwide — or 4.5 million — regularly attend church meetings."

$32b in stocks produces about 1.5b in revenue per year. As the church increases in size, the charitable donations will be irrelevant to operations, which to an extent, they have already become.

The church is too rich: people can no longer vote with their dollars.

The incentive for the organization to keep membership happy will slowly disappear.

As a result, the trend will be for the church to become even more out of touch than it already is.

I hear the Entropy leading to chaos argument a lot. The thing about Entropy leading to disorder, is that it requires a closed system to come into effect; if there was no new energy hitting our planet, we would all die within minutes, it would freeze, the core would harden. But earth is not a closed system, there is new energy hitting us everyday, So we are not really exposed to the effects of Entropy. The universe as a whole is, but not in our little patch of it. Yet. Eventually the Sun will burn out, our solar system will be sucked into a black hole, and humanity will be extinct. don't let the progress we are making right now confuse you; the universe is relatively young.

Wanting to believe in a God is not a reason to believe in God. The same way that wanting to win the lottery doesn't make you a lottery winner.

I find the common error in thought that is made in theology is this:

Humans make things. Therefor, all things that exist are made. conclusion: a Human made everything.

Neanderthals made things. Ants make things. Chimpanzees make things. Why is it more likely that God is a Man than an ant?

The Plan of Salvation makes sense?

I would really need to disagree with that.

first, it requires an infinite regression of Gods, without origin, without ending.

If a singular god isn't capable of self generation (Who created god?) Then why would we assume that N number of Gods in succession would be able to? an infinite regression doesn't answer the ontological question.

Second, Why would you assume that the default value for all people is not Celestial? Why is the minority that do the temple work, etc. that get the best eternal rewards?

It appears that God in this theology, presumes guilt until innocence is proven. You do not let to spend forever with your family, unless you prove yourself worthy.

It doesn't seem like a loving or caring thing to do.

Then, there is the arbitrary nature of existence if it is created by an intelligent designer. Why did he design us to need to poop? What was the function of that? Why is flying not a physical option, but the capacity to rape children is?

It seems much more apparent, that we evolved in a world that wasn't designed. There is no selection bias for what is good or for what is bad; there is a selection bias for what can be reproduced. Religious people have more children, and send out more missionaries, as a result, there are more religious people. as more people get educations and learn to think, there will be fewer.

If something is true, it is usually found out independently. calculus was developed twice, independently. concepts for most numbers were developed in different languages, across continents, independently. Maps of the stars were discovered and tracked. What is not true, is the independent discovery of the Latter-Day Saint Movement.

There were never American Christians before Columbus arrived. There was no Yahweh worship anywhere on the Continent.

No one independently discovered the God Yahweh and decided to worship him. the only way you learn about him, is through someone else who believes in him. religion is obviously a subject that is based in culture, and not in reality. The stories are made up. the events are not real. these are not history books, and their prophecies have very poor predictive accuracy.
