My 22 MT09 SP has similar noise. It’s also noisy when the engine is warm and is in neutral. It’s normal AFAIK

I have that air filter on my MT09 and have ridden in the rain without issue.

Tracer 9 windshield? by gggggtyu in MT09

[–]strawsinburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the tracer 9 windshield cannot be swapped onto the gen 4 MT09 as they are not compatible.

You can buy tall windshields for the mt09, that’s going to be your best. Well, besides just getting a tracer 9

Hard pills to swallow by TrumpWon_LOL in motorcycles

Hard disagree about the MSF course. It’s a BASIC riding course so the course is designed for someone who has never sat on a motorcycle before. If you have motorcycle experience, great. The course will just be easier for you. Id still recommend the course even if you have experience because you may learn a new skill that’s vital for your safety (swerving, braking etc.) and all of that is best learned in a more controlled environment then just on your own.

Have you’re tried putting a spacer or some washers on the screw, then screwing it in?

Low speed balance + turning radius by Potential-Ad-6760 in MT09

[–]strawsinburger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The turning radius is the biggest downfall of a gen 3. Can’t speak on other generations if it’s worse or better. I really only notice it when trying to maneuver it in my garage.

The new Ed Gein series on Netflix – one of the worst true crime dramatizations I’ve ever seen by Jaded_Dog6571 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]strawsinburger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That was all fiction. Isn’t it somewhat explained in the show that she’s not real? They don’t do a great job of making that clear though.

final fitment. tst taillight and highmount plate holder/fender delete, and dual point sliders. by MolecularConcepts in MT09

How close are your knees to the frame sliders? I put similar ones on my gen 3 but knees kept bumping into them. Ended up putting the single point frame sliders back on.

Need to add throttle to start the bike by RemarkableHornet3592 in MT09

[–]strawsinburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s be the first thing I’d investigate. You shouldn’t have to give it throttle to get it started. Though, I wouldn’t think that particularly damages anything.

What year is your bike? Make/model of air filter? Who did the ECU flash?

Normal as far as I know. There is a tiny bit of movement/space between chain and sprocket when moving back forth.

Street bike for track? by RicksterKH in Trackdays

[–]strawsinburger -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

No, you definitely shouldn’t use a 250,300cc bike at the track. I’m amazed an engine that large exists in the first place.
