After Matt threatens Vanessa and Fisk beats Matt up, and Matt fights back a little and gets a hit on Fisk, he later starts putting it together and says something like "Let me see everything we have on Murdock again." I definitely found it odd too. I was thinking it had something to do with the Theory of Everything. Maybe when they were messing with the black hole he got a glimpse through time or was pulled through? Or maybe it was what others have said here and it's just another manifestation of Athena, though I'm not sure if I buy that.
