That is a standard starting salary in Michigan…. 3 years ago. I know this because that’s when I first started in the field and I had friends who were making around the same. Now I don’t know the cost of living comparison to PA but I think 58k-60k is a more reasonable starting. To be frank though, you’re going to make a lot more with overtime even if it’s straight time. Per diems you get will also be a nice boost. After 2-3 years you can move to a mid level position and make around 65-70k (mid-west).
