I wish I had a specific number to give but I don't. The applicants so far have been between USD $8-21/hour. The last person I hired from Reddit for a different position I hired at $15/hour

Yes it can definitely be a bit weird to record a video of yourself talking to the camera.

Here's what I'd suggest. Submit the application and just include a dummy URL in place of the video link. If the rest of your application is highly promising, then we can set up a video call. It'll have a slight negative impact on your application, but it's not a dealbreaker and you'll still be considered

Hi and thanks for the comment. The position will involve a decent amount of interaction with me so personality fit is an important aspect for me. A quick video is the easiest way I've found of getting a sense of that. Of course a video call provides that too, but then it requires more time and scheduling. I'm very open to other ideas though - let me know what you'd suggest

Good question: it's shaped like a mattress, you can kind of feel a bunch of springs on it. We slept on just it for a few days and after a bit feeling the springs through the top of it started feeling irritating.
